Very sad isn't it ... the main reason she did not win any of the 2 nominations she got that year (she was also nominated for Best Actress for Gorillas In The Mist) is that the 2 nods split her votes for both categories .. The problem is that she's equally good in both movies, thats why people are torn about which one to vote her for ... its unlike Holly Hunter who won one of her 2 nods during another year, her reviews for one of the nods (The Piano) were so much more superior over the other nod that her votes were mainly concerntrated in 1 category which she won for.. thats not the case for Sigourney who was so good in both movies that it split her votes due to voter's indecisions .. Many people chose not to vote for one of the categories because they tought she would win the other category.. and some chose to vote for other actresses since they thought she will surely get the win for the other nod ... its a curse to be nominated for both best actress and best supporting actress in most cases .. but you can see how great her acting was during that stretch of time ..

Katherine was doing the deal on her company's behalf because she brought it to her company when she lied and stole it from under Tess. This is why they were finishing up the deal at Katherine's company's office's. Trask knew going to Katherine's superiors with the information that she had honed in on the deal by lying and stealing the credit from Tess and then to top it off wasn't up to speed on the important aspects of the merger risking their reputations as well as a multi million dollar deal wasn't going to go over well with her bosses.
