Update: Thanks to everyone's words of encouragement I realized that it is better to die a believer who does her best instead of someone who didn't accept the truth. I prayed for confirmation after reading all the comments that this was the right thing to do and I opened to a page in the Quran that EXACTLY confirmed it for me. I took the Shahada today and I thank all of you in the comments for encouraging me. I used to be a JW. They run because they are taught not engage in debates with anyone and because unfortunately they've been taught that everyone trying to have a discussion with them is against them and not sincere. No questions asked. Just believe. Good people but devious leadership. I started looking into Islam as this year i found myself surrounded by a lot of Muslim friends and asked a lot of questions. I was stunned as I never looked into it before. It makes a lot of sense and I am planning to take my Shahada next year. I need to get rid of all my sins that are difficult to overcome. I want to start on a clean slate.
Excuse me brother, i think you should take your sahada as soon as possible, because we dont have a guarantee that we even would be alive tomorrow. Dont worry about starting a clean slate, Allah will forgive all your previous sins, and after becoming muslim, you try your best to refrain and abandon things that Allah forbid. May Allah guide us all🙏
I was raised as a JW and became Muslim years after I left. Islam is a journey don't confuse it with the JW mentality. You take babysteps and many times you will fall, but your effort will be awarded by the grace of Allah. You will always sin, don't let your sins holding you back from accepting Islam. As soon as you would say the Shahada, all your sins will be forgiven, you wil start all over like a new born baby Insha Allah

I believe the Arab Jehovah's Witnesses he was speaking to were probably born Christian but from a different denomination. Arabs of Sham and Iraq were predominantly Christian during Byzantine rule. Alhamdullilah majority of Arabs are now Muslims except a small minority.
