    thanks for the vid. You mentioned a different tax code of 1250BR for people with a second job. For people with two jobs, do they have different tax codes for each job? or would it say 1250BR on both pay slips?

    • @HeelanAssociates
      @HeelanAssociates  2 года назад +1

      You'd normally see different codes. For example if it HMRC thought you'd earn £7500 in one, £5000 in the other, you might have 750L on one, 500L on the other. Or you might see 1250L on one, just 'BR' on another.

  • @dobrepytanie828
    @dobrepytanie828 3 года назад +2

    I used to be on the 1250L code, then they changed it to BR, then they changed it back to 1250L again. I then got a second job as a delivery driver and my tax code got changed to SD0. Some months later I quit my first job, only now doing the driver one, and my tax code is till SD0. Is this right? I'm being deducted about 30% of my total income. What does SD0 mean?

    • @HeelanAssociates
      @HeelanAssociates  3 года назад

      Sounds like a quick call to HMRC to update them on your situation might help this. You are basically being given no allowance currently on the 'Scottish rate'. Give them a call and explain about your job situation and they will likely move your code around, presuming they agree from their data.

      Over the year, no tax on those numbers, but on a M1 you *could* of. It you get to end of tax year on those numbers its likely you'd get a refund. Best to speak to HMRC before though as still time for them to alter tax code in the year (Just, as we type this).

    Do they still change your tax code if your situation hasn't changed for the past 5 years? The past year they've changed mine 3 times!!! Occasionally I am paid a small bonus by my employer but only occasionally; maybe twice or three times a year. The total is less that a £1000 a year. Beyond that, I haven't received ANY allowance.
    This has been my situation for the past 5 years, so why on earth does it keep changing this year? It went from 1250L to 381L M1 to 188L to 903L
    Why this year??? It makes no sense.
