Excellent video, you got me interested in doing the same route up to Joshua Tree in my DR650.

Started to take that route on my Tiger 800. Turned around about your 12:00 mark
Need to go back with the DRz

Thanks for the video. Be careful, you may want to check your toe position while standing. The camera makes it appear that they are pointing outwards.

Thanks man, I've been trying to train myself to turn them in with my knees as well.

Hey, how does that deflector screen work for you upfront?

I love it, keeps the wind off the torso and doesn't direct it to the helmet. It cuts off right below my neck.

Really like your vids as I plan a several weeks trip in the US next year. Will focus on TET & BDR. Still not sure if i will send ( from Switzerland) my old DR or my brand new T7. The T7 would surely be more comfi and safe but I am so at ease on my DR off road. Worried about the T7 weight and height.... will see...

Cool video, I am itching for winter to be over to get out on the DR!
What clip on screen is that? Does it work pretty well?

It's called a Justech Windscreen. It's great at keeping the air off the torso. The air does not hit the helmet either, so no helmet turbulence. Please see my video description for a link to the product on Amazon.

Great video as usual Scott. Love the new sleeker front fender. Based on the number of times you hit the ground, I can tell the DR is way more capable off road than the 310. A lot less prone to tucking the front end on soft sand! Bike sounds great too! You are a true adventurer!

Thanks Jordan! It's been a blast to ride. Did you record your recent mojave ride? Looks like fun.

@@ScottyADV no videos lately. Too lazy. It takes a good deal of effort and foresight to get good videos. So I watch yours instead. 😁

I ride the G310Gs with Rally Raid level 2, is the DR650 a better adventure bike, tracks and blacktop?

    • @ScottyADV
      @ScottyADV  9 месяцев назад +2

I had a G310GS with rally raid level 1. Great bike. The DR650 is very customizable to fit your needs. However, there are major differences. The DR650 is an old design with carburetors, no digital gauges, and no fairings. However, the DR650 has a 21-inch front wheel, its lighter, and easy to maintain. To me, the DR650 has better passing power on the highway than the G310, but no wind protection. Overall, I am pleased with the DR650. The G310GS can still do the same trails I do now. It's really all down to the rider skill and preferences.

Thanks! I met Chris, German fella, Jungle Junction owner, (Nairobi, Kenya). He'd explored literally the whole of Africa on a 'bike: DR 650 was his favoured choice! Merry Christmas. @@ScottyADV

Dude, you should have collected a bunch of those juniper berries from the campsite! They're super rich in essential oils, and potent antioxidants and reduce inflammation. Great for sore muscles after a long day of riding!

Whoa! Good to know. I thought they were just normal bush berries.
