Thanks for this easy to follow tutorial. We don't have access to a hobby store and my son and I were able to get his truck going again. I'm the only mum in town that knows how to set gear now!
first of gear mesh is to loose, second to put motor back on you put the top screw for the motor in (loosely) and the the bottom one (loosely) once you have your gear mesh right then tighten top then make sure gear mesh is right then tighten the bottom
I believe you used contact cleaner from CRC. It's a great product and used throughout the electrical industry for cleaning components such as contacts on relays and such. It sure did an excellent job cleaning your motor. It's crazy how much dirt came out of that motor. Great video. Your using the best stuff to clean with IMHO and it's safe on plastic.
Nice tutorial! Most seem to use a glass of water to run their motors in. I have picked up a can of Duratrax Power Shot to clean my motors. The only difference for me, is to not use 3 in 1 oil. If the motor gets hot, it can break down, and you will definitely know because you will be able to smell the oil when it gets hot. I picked up a bottle of Parma bushing oil. The shaft of the motor runs on bushings, so I'm guessing it would be a better choice to lubricate the motor.
@@Ris-v4w I haven't ran my trucks in a while, so I have yet to use the Power Shot spray and bushing oil on my motors. But a friend of mine was concerned about the way his motor was running one time. I didn't have the cleaning spray with me, but I had the bushing oil in the box I carry with tools and batteries. The bushings on his motor looked dirty, like a fine layer of dirt. We put some drops of it around the motor shaft, and it improved the performance of his motor quite a bit.
That was pretty cool finally some one uses 3and1 oil like I do.I have watched hundreds of video and nobody uses it.Wonderful job 👍 look great.Stay Safe Stay Healthy
Great video!! Watched a few before I got to yours. Others usually lose me when they use WD40 as a lubricant. I'll be pulling my motor tonight on my TRX4. Thanks
I'd say don't put off the demineralized water yet, it will not clear out the lube from the motor bushings/bearings like the spray does, in case this is what you are looking for
Used brake and clutch cleaner aswell as the same 3 in 1 oil. seems to have worked very well. I noticed that my senton was being a bit slow but it seems like new now. Thanks
Finally bro I've been just waiting for you to upload I video love all your videos please upload to your channel more often btw nice video can't wait to see a running video
Wish I knew this earlier this happened on my Traxxas stamped and I got a new motor thinking that the old one she shot then I realizes it was dirty found this out after installing the new one
Very interesting and useful video. I have one question. how much is the motor's shaft diameter and the pinion gear aperture diameter, which is mounted on the shaft by grab screw?
U should've put the top screw in first just snug then the bottom screw in cuz it isn't like the top where u can't move it it's not just a hole u can move the motor still n once u have it where u want it continue to tighten it down
Zach Lol that’s funny, man this was 10 months ago n before I ever uploaded any videos, back then I was just learning n watched a bunch of how to videos
The 1st part you can just fill a cup with water and put your brushed motor in it and just give it a little throttle and keep doing that until the battery is completely dead and you'll see that the cup will be completely black the 1st part isn't needed just do the water method a lot more easier and it cleans it way better
Any chance of a clip to show how to fix steering. Front wheels aren't turning a lot resulting in a wide turning radius and also mega wobbling when we reverse.
@@unboxingnewthings7766 Does your motor still work? If so, just buy some motor cleaner and clean it as you would. If it broke or it is running at extremely decreased efficiency, you'll need to buy a new motor, but luckily they're really easy to install
@@Vato_Loco_rc it depends on what terrain and in which conditions you're running it in. If it's just some grass and tarmac, then it's fine for 20+runs. But after a lot of water and mud you'd have to clean it after that run.

Its looooosssseee
Awesome video man - very helpful! Thanks!
Thanks for the tips... how often would you recommend that you do this level of cleaning?

Does having the ferrite rings on the motor leads help?? Thanks in advance.
The first time I raced I was told you had to put the oil down on that fan... you can imagine how that went

Good video 👍🏼How many runs you do this?

Hey, do you know anything on the DHK hunter 1/10, mine has recently lost lots of performance, good video btw, keep up the good work
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback! And unfortunately, I don't know a whole lot, if anything, about the DHK Hunter. Sorry!
thx for doing this

Your gear mesh is to loose
Calvin Ramin . you are right
I was thinking same thing, u need to clean those drive shafts during the close up they are caked with dirt coming off transmission

Good as you don't use any lock tight
Wd40 would that do

3in1 oil??? Doesn’t that have a wax base? 3in1 oil is hell on a sewing machine and motor.
ah rc specific and way to loose but good job
How about a shot of WD 40 to finnish?
Can i use wd40
do not use WD 40
