@@Wheagg The redesign added a ton of stupid features nobody asked for. They added a 30 post a day limit (to prevent roleplaying). They replaced regular posts with a bunch of new subcategories: drawings (sure), "play journals" (basically just regular posts, but they needed a screenshot), and "discussions" (you could only have one open for comments on your account at a time. Very weird). Honestly, it wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be, but there still really wasn't a reason to do it. I wouldn't say it made the website better, but I kept using it until it closed anyway.
Rest in peace Miiverse, you were a mistake and we'll miss you.

Miiverse was once in a lifetime event. For as weird it was, I'm glad I witnessed everything. Sometimes I would turn on my 3DS just to read Miiverse posts and see cool drawings. I remember the RUclips app community was the strangest of all communities. Most of the of infamous Miiverse content came from that place.

I remember the New Super Luigi U community being the Miiverse equivalent to /b/ since everyone in the community collectively agreed it was the place for miscellaneous shitposts. Miiverse was something else. I wish it was still available.

I used Miiverse from a few months after it was released to the day it was shut down. It was the first social media network I ever joined, and I was only a young teen at the time. It might sound strange, but Miiverse really had its own culture of sorts among the off topic meme posters. There's so much lore that I couldn't possibly fit into just one comment related to Miiverse and the many people who used it. After Miiverse shut down, many people made their own clones, all of which died out shortly after they started. There's really no way to get an authentic Miiverse experience these days, as the community was full of confused kids and memelord teenagers, which lead to one of the most chaotic communities ever on the web. The closest you can get to that experience is probably by going on Roblox, but it's not the same without the old "dank meme" meta from back in the day that was so popular on Miiverse.

Didn't even watch the video but I had positive anecdotal memories of Miiverse. I made plenty of friends whom I still keep in contact with through Discord. Even I don't know what we smoked back in 2013-17, I just shoved the nondescript dust the others gave me into my mouth hole and downed it with the cheapest no-brand gasoline we could find. You know, that one used gasoline jug that was so old and bad it busted the car engine, like, twice. I'd take that shit, down it, then light it up and pretend I was a fire-breathin' dragon! That RP part just unlocked a memory. There was a mobile game similar to Danball Powder Game. I think it was called the Sandbox Game. There was a section to post your creations with a caption. People used it to RP by posting their character with a caption or downloading someone’s level and reposting it with a different caption. There would be multiple RPs going on at once if I remember, all on the same “share and publish” sort of page.

Miiverse was honestly one of the few things I think the Wii U had over the switch. A completely self contained social media platform that really had few restrictions. It reminded me a lot of pre social media xbox live in that the outside world had very little effect on how the users behaved or acted. It was great and I unironically miss it

Man I still have my DSi, 3DS, WiiU and now I have a Nintendo Switch, Miiverse was another level, I hope one day some social media comes out, even if it's not as free as this one I would be happy to chat and draw some stuff to other ppl
I never experienced mii verse. Either when I got my wii u it was already out or I just didn't care(i didnt use the internet at all then,probably a good thing). But at least there is still splatoon 2 plaza posts witch kinda encaptures that energy.
A few of Splatoon 2's posts even made it into the video! Still curious how close Splatoon 3 will be to capturing that unique energy again
