    I just want to say Thank you! for your video. That gel is amazing, I love it! never thought it was going to be this great. I’ve followed your advice and I am very pleased with the results. My hair is low porosity and used a little less gel than you did and my hair is shiny, soft, natural looking curls. Thank you!!

      I am just now learning about these methods and wish I had learned how to better deal with my head back in my 20's 30's or 40's but now at 50 at least I am going to love my hair again! Going to get products today after work and picking up my Curly Girl book from the library!

    Don’t know if you’ll ever see this but: I just want to say THANK YOU!! I’m 22 and have been dealing with my crappy hair since I hit puberty since that is when my hair started to go nuts for some reason. It became a mix of wavy, curly, straight, and poofy. Of course with a healthy mix of frizz. I tried everything but eventually gave up. Thinking that my hair was just destined to be that way. Until I first heard about curly-girl last year. At first I thought it was too good, too simple, to be true. So chalked it up to just more B.S. until I researched more just this past month. So I finally decided to take the plunge after watching this video. I even bought the same gel you recommended! And it actually worked!! I couldn’t believe it. Just with the first 2 Co-washes, I noticed my hair is much better looking. I apparently have natural loose curls and I couldn’t be more thrilled! All those frustrating years of taking almost 2 hours every day to straighten my hair and in the process damaging it to hell or just putting it up are over! So even if I heard of the Curly Girl Method before, I credit you for helping me make the decision to finally try it. For unlike many other videos/websites, you keep things simple and don’t recommend outrageously expensive products my broke college self can’t afford which was also why I hesitated before. So with that rather long rant over, thanks so much again!

    So so glad that I came across your channel as I recently discovered about the CGM. I was incredibly overwhelmed about where to start from because mostly all CGM influencers recommend and use multiple products that are quite expensive and have hair wash routines that are very time consuming. Your CGM regimen is so simple and easy to follow for a beginner like me who's just starting to embrace her curly hair.

    Hey Susie,
    Just wanted to come back on here real quick and give you a great big THANK YOU!!!! Just did my "wash day" routine and actually tried out the gel for the first time. As I said before, I typically always used creams before because I never felt like gel looked right in my hair. It always seemed to have that crunchy wet look... but thanks to your tips, I am IN LOVE!!!! I have literally never seen my hair look better. It looks so much curlier than it normally does and less weighed down. I was SO surprised! My husband even noticed and commented on how much better my hair looked tonight after I finished plopping and letting it air dry! He LOVES my natural wavy/curly hair, and told me whatever I did differently tonight, that I need to keep doing every time because it looks so much better! ❤️
    You've officially made me a Gel Gal for LIFE! 😍 LOL.

    • @CurlySusie
      @CurlySusie  6 лет назад +4

      Hey Kayla!!! I’m so so glad. Your hair will only get better & better 💕💕💕 if you ever put too much in & get the crunchy look, just use your hands or a Tshirt & scrunch out the gel & it’ll look awesome.

    • @k.hebert
      @k.hebert 6 лет назад +3

      Curly Susie I will be sure to remember that! I didn't put a ton in, tonight. I want to try the gel cast next time I do my wash day routine. But I did a decent "normal" amount this time, I guess you can say. LOL. It just had a tad bit of a crunch to it, but nothing crazy. I used your trick with a bit of conditioner and scrunched out the little bit of crunch I had and it looks absolutely phenomenal. I still can't believe it. I don't want to go to bed because it's looking so nice right now! 😂😂😂

    • @CurlySusie

      Curly Susie loose messy bun?! Or more of a loosely twisted bun?! Only asking because I've been looking for new Sleeping tricks to help my hair look its best. My hair seems to be too long to do the traditional Pineapple method. I still do it from time to time when I don't feel like using a scarf, but it doesn't seem to look as nice when I wake up.

    Just started the curly girl method about a week ago! Your videos have really helped me start this method out. I'm still struggling with finding products that work for me, but I will get there! I cant get over what a difference I've had since my first wash. I got a hair trim the day after my first wash and talked to my hair stylist about this method. She made sure to wash my hair with silicone free and sulfate free cleansing shampoo and the results I am getting are truly impressive! I also am struggling with a bit of frizz that I get, but i feel like you and i have the same hair type! I'm excited to see the full potential of my curls! I wish I could post a before and after picture of my first wash, but I dont know how to do that through youtube....maybe I will figure it out soon! But you are so cute curly Susie and I truly enjoy your videos and advice!

    i came across your channel while searching for beginner-friendly curly/wavey girl methods and boy am i glad i found you!
    I have got wavey hair, but it is severely damaged due to a Brazilian blowout that i got 3 years ago. It caused severe hair fall; my hair became limp, flat, dull, dry and devoid of volume. No matter how hard I try, i cannot style it, because my hair has just stopped holding any styles, be it curls or straightening or even blow-drying-- nothing sticks; but after watching your videos i will be
    starting my wavey hair journey this week-- lots of love from Pakistan❤

    Thank you SOOOOOO much!!! I've been looking for a technique to make my hair be not a ball of sad, frizzy waves for so long!! Both my father and sister have thick, beautiful big curls, but I inherited my mother's thinner hair, so I had no idea how to compensate for that. My hair was always like a 2a texture, but somedays it would be 2b/2c, and I had no clue how to get it to stay like that! I switched to all natural shampoo and conditioner and used your routine in the shower, and made a gel cast and oh my gosh!! It makes such a difference! My hair is shiny and my waves/curls form better and they stay in! I guess I was brushing it and towel drying it to death! I can't believe I've finally found a way to make my hair behave, thank you so much for this video!

    Thank you again for giving me more tips and believe me I need all the help I can get! I am only on my second week of the curly girl method. My sister got me started on it and actually I had never even thought about going curly, well maybe occasionally! I knew I had curly hair because I remember dreading humid days, and I live in south Texas which is known for it's humidity in the summer. I envied those with super straight hair that just dried that way and I had to really work at it. I used Dippity-Do to straighten my hair, along with huge curlers and taping my bangs to my forehead! Yes, and a couple days ago I ran across my old friend Dippity-Do!! Now used to help curl your hair and keep it curlier. I was shocked that it even still existed and I'm considering trying the spray leave-in but not sure I want that stiff feeling even though I am told I can scrunch it out! I can't believe there are so many products to choose from and it confuses me even more. I appreciate your videos so much because you seem to make it simpler and therefore easier for me. And your hair is so full of curls it's absolutely beautiful! I yearn for ringlets now when just several weeks ago I was blow drying and using my trusty little straightener to smooth it out even better. I quit coloring my hair about a year or so ago and now it's down past my shoulder blades. If you have any suggestions on how to best have layers cut I would really appreciate it because I think that would help! God bless and your little boy is adorable!!

    Ordered the oil for my hair and for my skin, tried their free trial offer, I made sure to read how the trial promo works and was surprised of the regular price of the essence of argan but they offered me a very good deal for only $29.99 every month. Been 8months since I started using the oil and Im loving the result! Best result I've had compared to all skin care products used before!
    Essence Of Argan Oil and Idrotherapy cream, just helps me a lot. The best skin care i ever had.

    This was very helpful. Want to wear my curly hair but it's so damaged and frizzy. I'm going to schedule a cut and gloss, and keep trying this.

    I love your hair it's absolutely beautiful. My daughter (4 years old) has curly hair and she's starting to lose some of her curl. (Like I did at her age) I'm hoping with the curly girl method we can get it back.

    I just stumbled across you & your videos. I’m 41 years old & never knew there was a method. I finally gave up shampooing everyday about two years ago & it has helped so much, but I’ve been researching more to get more curl out of my hair. One thing I’ve been super surprised by you & other curly girls mentioning is the use of nonsalon products. I’ve always been told to use salon products because they’re so much better. I’m assuming this is true for color which I do also. I recently got the bioterra gel from Sally’s you use, and it’s been a life changer.

    This is so helpful!! I’m the only curly girl in my family so I’ve never had much instruction on how to make it look nice! I’ve been fuzzy/frizzy headed too long!!! Excited to start!

    I have never commented on anything but you are my very favorite and have made the process of restoring my curls seem somewhat possible, so thank you! I'm not fully committed yet because I'm in a wedding at the end of the month and know the beginning is rough, but I've switched some products and methods and happy with the results so far with one serious exception, how much hair comes out during detangling?? Maybe I'm doing too much detangling, do you get your hair totally knot free? I'm also 9 months post partum so I know some of the hair loss is due to hormones but I don't know if I can take it!!

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who keeps their gel in the shower and applies it in the shower. It's the only way I've found to get lasting curls. I wish I could get away with the praying hands and scrunching. My hair is trained for rake and shake only. Maybe I'll give it another try. :/

    Thank you soooo much for your videos Suzie!!! You are my favorite to watch for the CG method. I haven't started the CG method yet because i've been intimidated but I believe I have a very similar curl to my hair as yours and I think I'm ready to start the process now :) I'll let you know how it goes !

    Thanks a lot for this, I get overwhelmed with products sometimes. I have a couple of questions if you wouldn't mind advising:
    1. Would you recommend the gel (and gel cast) for Type B hair? My hair is fine and can easily curl or straighten, but I find it gets weighed down by heavy cream and while I have ok curls/waves at the tips, my roots are quite frizzy.
    2. Why do you sometimes use a combo of gel and cream? What difference does this make?
    3. I swim a lot... so I don't know if you have much experience of this in particular, but any tips for swimming and the CGM?
    Thanks!

      Curly Susie it’s not 😩 I have shoulder length hair n curls that frizz but I’ve never really tried anything for it I’ve always pulled my hair up. I definitely want to try this. I’m thinking I need some kind of treatment to nourish some heat damage but I never know what to buy there’s so much out there.

    I totally agree about the gel! Your video has been the most helpful and I'm REALLY loving my curls! I've been using deva curl products for a year and just haven't been that happy with them. This gel recommendation is the best ever and the affordability makes me love it all that much more. Thank you curly girl!

    Have you ever tried a rice water hair treatment? It’s a protein treatment made with fermented rice water. There are lots of RUclips videos on it. I’ve just used it for the first time.

    You mentioned either in this video in another one that you don't pull your hair back tightly to avoid damaging the curls. What about working out or other activities where you'd be moving around a lot and you need your hair to stay securely out of the way?
