Sorry to see a great company like LP make a plastic guiro. I have a vintage wooden guiro that sounds soooooooooo much better.
This LP plastic güiro has been around for ages. Don’t be sorry, every major percussion company has copied it and sells one. In some cases, you have to weigh the benefits of durability vs sound. I can’t see myself taking my handmade gourd güiros on the road any time soon 😅✌🏼
This must be what's used on David Bowie's "The Man Who Sold The World".
There’s definitely some kind of güiro on that track! Not uncommon in 70s rock, mind you 🥂
@@CongaChops I was totally sold on the quiro sound on Gimme Shelter in the late 60s. Rolling stones. I had no idea what it was at the time but the groove is so compelling!
