    Hi Josh. Thank you very much for this video - it turned out to be a game changer for me. This might sound "strange" but after watching your video, I created a collection where I could "talk" to my dad, who died when I was younger, and there has been some episodes from my childhood, that I would have liked to talk to him about before he died but didn't have the opportunity to do so. I filled out the AI Prompt and now I can just write "Dad?" and Perplexity will reply like "Hey kiddo, what are you up to" etc. I'm completely mind blown how fast Perplexity "gets it" and quickly learns. I testet out GPT-4o AI model in Perplexity at first but switched to Claude 3.5 and found that Claude would carry the conversation in a much more human-like style. This is so amazing. And a bit scary.

    • @josh.evilsizor
      @josh.evilsizor  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Ken, thank you for the feedback, and what a cool use case! Were you able to provide the model anything about your Dad to help it "assume his personality" (i.e. letters, videos, etc.?). Either way, very cool and thanks so much for sharing! 🙏 Finally, many agree with you, Claude is the better conversationalist, by a wide margin! 😊

    • @kennethwedmorelund
      @kennethwedmorelund 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@josh.evilsizor After a hours of "talk" with my "dad", I would say that the experience is more like talking to any "bonus pater" (the latin word for 'the all-knowing farther'). It learns quickly, though and the conversation is really great, "dad"-clone or not :)

      Hi! Sorry for the delay! Unfortunately you cannot add documents like you can with Custom GPTs. You can share search results with anyone, but for someone to collaborate with you they would need an account, but not necessarily a subscription.

    Love the video. I'm just now learning about the various ai tools available and came up with an idea that would help in my job. Can Perplexity use a website for a data source and then render results to a user similar to using ChatGPT and a prompt? The website has a many many links that dive into vast amounts of data and I'd love to have a single place I could use a prompt to get answers back rather than digging through massive amounts of links and data. Is something like this possible? Maybe using another tool like claude?

      A really insightful question! 🤓 I primarily kept it off during the video to keep things moving most rapidly. During experimentation, prior to shooting, CoPilot was indeed, occasionally helpful. Nice to meet you neighbor! 🤓 Regarding the rewrite function, that's a great question, I definitely could have done a better job explaining. Ultimately, using the other chatbots (via rewrite function) gives you the opportunity to pick the one best suited for the type of question you're asking. Or, if you didn't like the answer you got, cycling through the other chatbots can also be helpful.

    I'm a bit confused on the difference between Personal Agents.. Assistant AI, and Custom GPTs.
    For example, if you create a Custom GPT application using OpenAI's GPT builder.. does their Store/Marketplace allow you to host it for others to try? Can you host it somewhere else if they reject it? And your cost is that, anyone using it will go towards your 40 messages/3hour limit?
    As an alternative, if you create a local web-app, it falls under the API pricing.. so the more popular it gets, the more it costs you? In either case, how does the pricing change between a prompt that requires a simple yes/no response, versus one that requires image analysis?
    My goal is to drag a pdf of a handwritten scan to a web-app (hosted locally or on OpenAI) that calls Chat-GPT4 Vision to do an OCR and extract data from a table, then perform some calculations on it, and finally print the results to a pdf (or append a new page to the original pdf).
    Should I use Perplexity [Agent], ChatGPT (Custom Builder or Assistant API)?

    • @josh.evilsizor
      @josh.evilsizor  10 месяцев назад

      Have you done OCR testing on both? It seems like whichever one is the most consistent would be the better choice (I've found some models to be inconsistent).

    I feel like I am going around in circles. I am trying to create a collection but everytime i enter my prompt, it gives me generic information on the prompt as if i have provided no context for the prompt. Can you see anything wrong with the below ai prompt?
    When i enter a company name, search that company name in place of [company name] in the following question "How does [Company Name] use Kubernetes in their operations?"

    • @josh.evilsizor
      @josh.evilsizor  4 месяца назад

      The prompt you shared with me is not bad, but there are probably a few ways that you might improve it. The simplest element I always offer folks is to be sure to include PAO:
      Persona
      Audience
      Output
      Secondly, have you tried asking other models? If you ask other models the same question and get similar results, it could be that you're not providing sufficient context.
      If you'd like some to dive a little deeper on providing context, please check out this Prompting Basics Playlist:

      @@josh.evilsizor haha sorry. I created a custom GPT (OpenAI) to teach a python lesson. The intent was the GPT would ask questions in sequential order - otherwise, the lesson didn't make sense. I ended up having to write a step by step script using markdown - and after much iteration, I got it to work. This use case prompted my question to you. And now hopefully makes more sense?

  • @Gorillaradio
    @Gorillaradio 8 месяцев назад +1

    It doesn't work for me. Perplexity simply ignores the prompt in the collection. Is it something that need pro subscription?

    • @josh.evilsizor
      @josh.evilsizor  8 месяцев назад

      Hey great question! 🤓 The short answer is no, pro not required. However, without seeing what you are actually doing, I can't be certain where Perplexity is failing you.
      If you'd like to make a quick screen share video (using loom or other similar software) and share that with me, I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot. Regardless, best of luck! 💪

      Hi Oliver and thank you so much for the feedback, I really appreciate it! 🙏 I am also terribly sorry that Josh picked such a terrible example 😞 Wait, why are we talking about Josh in the 3rd person? 😆
      I didn't include hotels or flights in this video because it would have been redundant to the information provided in my Bard overview and agent videos, linked below (which I realize you had no idea of knowing) - please check them out, I hope they are helpful.
      FYI - Bard (now Gemini) is, imho, the better choice for these two functions (hotel/flight searches/booking) because of it's unique "extensions" feature. Check out the videos and lmk!

      Personally when I consider the title agent, I think of it more like a virtual assistant, but there's so many other videos out there that are doing the same sort of products, so calling them something other than agents would be confusing to amateurs like myself who are just beginning learning ai, but I completely understand what you're saying as far as not being what most would consider agents, just wanted to play devil's advocate ,😊
