Absolutely. Song writing, arrangement, able to play and his voice. My God his voice!?!?
The emotive fucking power gifted to him.
Such a small, small percentage of people that have been till now have been blessed with some of these gifts and then Chris!??
All the muses we're flowing from that veritable don't thru him and out to us.
Never ever ever ever will there be another like him.
      Dulce somnii. RIP
      To my namesake

Part of a music class that changed the course and history of music forever.. I was 18 in 1994 and it forever changed me as well.. .I hope he's in the place he felt he needed to go. 🙏

Angel of Death The minute I first heard of Chris's death, I knew playing Fell On Black Days was apropos. Chris was an amazing artist with a voice of an angel, however tortured the angel was. He deserves to belong in the Super Unknown, the Black Hole Sun a gateway into that place in the universe where all is love, and all are truly welcome. God bless Chris Cornell, whose sound garden is growing with silver bells, cockle shells and an acre and a half of the most killer shit of the nineties. Love always, Sound Gardeners!

1996....when my GF broke up with me, I was crushed. This was my anthem song. I played it over and over. This one and Eltons John's "Someone Save My Life Tonight" and Hootie and the Blowfish - Goodbye. Listen to that last one and your heart will rip out. I was fucking CRUSHED!! A small part of me will never be the same. It is still hard to listen to these 3 songs, as the memories flood back. Happily married for many years, but the wound will always remain. High dose vitamin D3 changed my life with fibromyalgia along with getting gluten, dairy and chicken eggs out of my diet (duck eggs are fine for me.) I had pain since I was a child and at 31 years old I finally gave up on docs that pushed anti-depressants and pain killers as their "solution" after I became suicidal on them for the second time and had horrible withdrawal symptoms which they denied I could have.
I take 10,000 - 20,000 iu a day of D3 and my muscle and joint pain has been gone for three years now.
Just my experience so take what you like and leave the rest. Good luck!

I miss you every day Chris; your voice, roaring in the dead silence of a fake world, gave me strength to go trough my darkest days. Somehow I feel that you're surrounded by light now, somehow I feel your hands are not tied anymore. You did teach me to love the peace in darkness and silence and grow from it, you did teach me that tied hands can make the freest of spirits; you showed me to scream my soul out and write things that go deeper than the eye can pierce, no words can explain what you've done for me.

R.I.P. Chris :( I miss you. You were the last of the gods of Grunge from the 90's when I was a young man. Rest in peace. First Kurt Cobain died in 1994 by suicide, then Layne Staley of Alice in Chains died of a heroin o.d. in 2002, then we lost Scott Weiland to drugs also in 2015 and now you. All the gods of my my youth are gone. Every God of Grunge is now singing together in the Ultimate Grunge-Alt band of all time in Heaven. Give my regards and Love to my other heroes up there in heaven. :)

I've spent a few yrs learning how to play, and sing like Chris Cornell. They say we should lisren to those that suffer depression. Its only now that he's gone i realize that Cris Cornell screamed of his pain so deeply that all we heard was its beauty.

Possibly the greatest conveyor of pure audio emotion ever to hold the mic. I've many a time broken down howling with grief while driving to Cornell playing and had to pull over where I was to avoid crashing. His passing feels personal and exceptionally tragic to me and continues to emotionally cripple me at times. It's similar to my grief for my closest friendship and family passing though I never met the legendary singer. Rest in Piece, and continue amaze on the other side.

I listen to it all since it first hit the seen, and still do...on a daily basis. My heart was truly broken and I was so, so devastated when I heard the horrible news of his passing. I still can't wrap my head around it. Another true artist with God given talent is gone...RIP Chris

I agree with you regarding Layne Staley. The only time I really listened to AIC was when my husband had it playing. He loved music, especially AIC. His taste in music was a bit more hard core than mine. He passed away 11 yrs ago. After he passed, I felt the need to go through and listen to all his music/CD's. When I did, I found a new appreciation for AIC and many others. I was blown away by AIC "Unplugged". One of the best live performances I've ever heard. Keep rockin', from Prtld,OR

A week or so has passed and how quickly we move on...Yet, I haven't ..This one caused me to pause...Allman died today,,,and though a tragedy, it was foreseeable...I worked the houses when MJ died...Driving through Celebrity neighborhoods and pointing out the this and that, while the firestorm swelled. Though MJ was traumatic, Chris's death hit me at home. MJ was a mythical figure...Chris was one of "us"....Lyrically gifted, voice like no other, he transcended the squalor of the grunge scene...I was a hair metal fan, when I came across Soundgarden but was transformed...He enlightened me...or at least, helped me see I could see beyond tomorrow...Sadly, for he and his family (aat least for "now") there are no tomorrow's left....I will miss his voice, his soul, his words...sorry, if I rambled.
