I remember in the 2000s there were a bunch of weird comic book films, like the green hornet, obviously a cash grab off of a public domain character but still interesting that people were so desperate for comic book film money they'd ressurect forgotten characters like that
Oh boy, for many italian and european people that were young back then, like yours truly, Dylan was such a cultural phenomenon. And how many references one would pick up immediately, while many others would be discovered decades later. This movie, Cemetery Man, is way more DylanDog-esque than the actual Dylan Dog movie. Of note, Dylan meets Francesco in the third special issue (Orrore Nero - 1989 but often reprinted). There is also something in the short story Stelle Cadenti. Ci son tre cose al mondo le donne e il vino nero la terza in fondo in fondo è sempre il cimitero
Dylan Dog fans, when would you say the books "get good"? The early stuff is fun, but the art's a little choppy and there's a lot of tracing from horror movies. I've read later stuff and know it gets better, but for a chronological reading, can anyone recommend when that switch happens?
I think the consensus was always that the first 100 issues are the best, however the artists do alternate a lot so sometimes the art won't be the best. I would say the story finds its footing as early as issue #6, and my personal favorite is #19.
Dredd, Sin City, Men In Black, Old Boy, Road to Perdition, V for Vendetta, A History of Violence, 300, The Crow and Blue is the Warmest are some other iconic comic book films not based around or focused superheroes.

Cemetery Man has been on my Top 5 all time favorite films. Thanks for this video.
This is one of my favourite movies and I had no idea it was based on a novel.
Absolute Nostalgia Bomb of an opening by showing clips from the 90’s Spider-Man the animated series. Such a gem of a series.
“My favorite comic book movie i…”
“Wrong it’s Constantine”
"Daddy, what's this?"
"I'd give my life to be dead."
These are fantastic videos!😊
Dylan Dog sounds a bit like John Constantine (Hellblazer).
Dylan Dog and John Constantine actually ended up meeting in the Batman-Dylan Dog crossover comic. Turns out that they hate each other lol
wow great job on the video. I enjoyed it a lot

Tracing or just showing what horror dylan is watching? In the first issue Dylan and the client are watching Romero.
Bro absolutely forgot Sin city exists

Even though Punisher exists in a world of superheroes, he’s not one of them.
