"Animatics... I really wouldn't do that. I don't have time to watch it"
Me after giving 2 whole weeks to sort out my best animatics for portfolio : 🤡
Thank you for the time stamps!
This was really helpful, thank you :)
11:10 agreed. AVATAR: The Last Airbender was better than any Pixar movie. Same with Korra. Way better. The story, the animation. Great stuff. They can play more with character arcs.
19:15 I'm using a Huion. Way cheaper than a Cintiq and just as good.for painting and boarding.
Man really? Everyone I asked said adding animatics was a good idea. It seems like a better and quicker way to see where someone's skill level is than just seeing 3 panels :/
I completely agree. As a storyboard artist you're making films not comic books. A recruiter can just as well scroll through an animatic. Also most recruiters send your stuff to a director or sup anyway. If you're really bad at editing though and your animatics are way off, you should use frames.
You send BOTH! Every storyboard artist working in animation has animatics AND panels on their site.
I want to be tv storyboard artist or start as revisionist. I have one storyboard with 32 panels and the quality might not be good.
Rewatch this video. He already answers your question. Several times!
Also look up Rajen Ramkalawa he offers a free Storyboarding course on RUclips. Also gesture drawing for boarding.
