I loved this mini-serie! And I'm pretty impressed by your friend's memory. She was able to share a date and pin each memory in time so fast, I am admirative of the absence of fog in her brain 😅
I had everything from when I was young because I live in the same house I grew up in and that's why I still have them. Then, we renovated the house when I was 36. That's when I started to declutter / give away / throw away every old stuff. It's tough. I was still holding on to some things. It's a process. I watched videos on decluttering and read books on the topic to motivate myself. I had to do 3-4 rounds until I was brave enough to let go of childhood things, such as my 12 year old Mickey Mouse pencils, my university folders, books, clothes etc. The easiest way to let go of stuff is to know that we can't take them to the grave. It's just stuff. No one else care about them. Less/ No baggage equals happiness and freedom.
Decluttering is very spiritual to me. It’s a huge awakening of the mind. Life is not just consuming and collecting things but being present and conscience of the only actual time you have is now. I’m trying to always declutter, especially the mind to always be experiencing the now.

I’ve sold sold a couple hundred excess clothing items and shoes in the last couple years. This video just motivated me to sell some more.

I view any space I’m decluttering as a container. I can keep anything I want and love, as long as it fits in my “container”. Wardrobe, kitchen cupboards etc are all containers🤷♀️

Sampson is nuts and I love him!!! What a transformation and you are very right, decluttering is addictive and once you start that addiction gains momentum. I am constantly looking around asking myself all the usual questions and somehow I still come up with tons of stuff to declutter.
I swore I was the only adult with a Cabbage Patch Kid in my closet. We are all so similar with the declutter. It gives me comfort and motivation to get moving on my closet and also not be so hard on myself. PS I am keeping my CPK.
She did really good! I clean out my closet pretty regularly and I do sell on Poshmark, my nieces get a lot of stuff also. Now I really don't need to dress up for work becuz I have to wear a uniform which makes me sad because I love to shop!!!!
wouah congratulations to let go so much ! i am in transition to move the other way round, from France to Latin America ;) and i feel that i have to let go so many things to avoid to take too much or store stuff in my family garage.. so i am in the same process.. and Fall season is perfect for letting go I feel.. as the not more useful leaves.. we let go what serve us for past seasons now.. ;)

The hats in Canada are called toques and even though they can be stylish if it's really cold they are pulled down around our ears.. the winters are getting warmer so you guys might be getting the snow with your beanies..I have to laugh..up here a beanie is almost flat like a saucer and sits on the back of your head....and young boys used to wear them in the forties.
My hallway closet was like Monica’s secret messy closet in Friends 😂 my mum came over and grabbed the door handle before I finished the word ‘no’ she was completely buried under Xmas decorations, handbags, coats… nerf guns 😂 she knows me very well so luckily she helped me and said she wondered where I stashed everything 😂
This was a great 2 part of decluttering with friends! Especially because I too am super organized but emotionally am attached to many clothing items/things. I learned a lot and honestly, it is helping me build up the courage to do the same 🤍 Thank you both 🤍
