Tapping is something they can visually appreciate, whereas sweeping is a little more subtle, unless you're blazing around the neck like Becker or Loomis =) Thanks for watching and commenting!
Ercan Akyürek definitely, I play that part tapped too because it's so much easier if there were guitarists in the crowd they'd know it's harder picked.
I'd rather say vocals was better than Mustaine's (I personally felt Megadeth needed This man's Vocals on the song) Solo was improvised a lil but 99% similar!
Stellar performance by everyone, but I really want to commend the singer. He added his own flavor to the vocal work, instead of just trying to sound like Mustaine like a lot of other covers do. Great work!
well holy fuck, have you just done the perfect cover of this amazing song! almost goddamn flawless and a fuckin mint performance from the guitarist and bassist-hell, the whole crew! absolute killer performance
Woah! Is your guitarist using a Kirk Hammett guitar and playing a Megadeth song?! Didn't you know that was illegal?!??!!?!?!?! Good performance though. Everything was spot on.
all of them are skilled the bassist, the guitarists, the vocalist, the drummer excellent work ps: playing a megadeth song with a Hammet signature guitar, what an irony :D
@@NathanMarchack Im very happy you responded, Im becoming a huge fan, watched most of your vids, you're an inspiration take care brother, keep on rocking!:)
Thank YOU so much, I really appreciate it and it definitely encourages me to keep practicing and trying new things.... feel free to share with anyone else who might be interested, take care and thanks again!
I was wondering how this video came up on my watchlist...oh you are the Carcass covers guy!l recently learnt some licks from Tornado song, but still want the solo, but listened it 1000times,and your play was very accurate,l would be happy to be close to that.Awesome singer, bass player and drums too.I would watch you every gig!
Thanks so much for the kind words. this vid was from our last gig... fun times, nearly 15 years ago! I’ve been playing some more “extreme” stuff like carcass since then but less time to play these days with work and other life commitments. Still, comments like yours definitely help to keep me practicing so thanks again!
They love you Nathan, haha. Probably the best performance I've heard since Megadeth did it live in '92. And this guy's vocals destroy Mustaine these days, since he's getting old. Awesome.
Many thanks, Gabe! There's something charming about Dave's raspy snarl that just can't be reproduced but yeah I think our singer did a good job on this =P
This is my favorite tornado of souls cover. even the camerawork is on point, everyone gets ample camera time and follows the flow of the song. fuck yes, the improvised parts are even balling out. 10/10
Just awesome! Your singer is perfect, the solo on the guitar was great (marty friedman stuff is difficult as hell) and I'm sure your bassist shakes the place!
Hey man, thanks so much for watching and for the kind words. Really appreciate it. Sorry we didn't do any Linkin Park covers at this gig but I'm glad you enjoyed it all the same =) Take care and feel free to check out my channel for newer guitar vids in HD!
The lead guitarist reminds me of Ned schneebly's great advice. "You can be the ugliest, saddest sap on the planet. But if you're In a band you're the cats pajamas, you're the bee's knees!"
@MrHoopla Thanks for the kind comment! Yeah, it's definitely a hell of a solo, I really didn't learn it note for note, just the main bits and improvised some other licks. Tried to do it justice so I'm glad people seem to think it sounds okay haha. Good luck!
This gig was at Stanford University in California (we were all students at the time). Bass player, 2nd guitar and drummer were from the US, singer from India, I grew up in Trinidad and Tobago.
Holy Hell! You guys tore that up! Excellent job, everyone played well and even kept their head when things fell apart a bit. Very professional. Yeah, loop that cable up! Granted this was a while ago, but every one of you can be proud of doing a great job on a tune that isn't exactly easy to pull off. Well done, wish I could do that well myself.
@progpowerfan Well we all were students at Stanford University in California when this was recorded...but I think the breakdown was bassist - Los Angeles, drummer - New York, singer - India, rhythm guitar - Chicago/Dallas, lead guitar - Trinidad and Tobago. Thanks for watching and the kind comment!
I was tensed up until he started singing, then I got that relaxed "I can sit through this video" feeling. You know what I'm talking about hehe. Loved it, epic final gig =]
@Marcelocs82 Hi, thanks for watching and for the kind words. For this gig I was running a Marshall MG100DFX (1x12 combo) with an Ibanez TS-9 on low gain and high volume. Guitar was an LTD KH-602 with EMG-81 pickups, maple body, rosewood neck. That's about all I can remember haha.
Holy shit this is actually good. I never find good live covers I watch for the cringe but this is actually good. I would love to play with a thrash band.
@Kakhaufan Thanks for the kind words and for giving the video a chance (and as I am the guitar player thanks for giving the solo a chance too lol). Cheers!
Very good word on that song (my personnal favourite Megadeth song). the singer is so good (i've already watched him on Iron Maiden's Hallowed be thy name cover) He still tries to sing like the original singer (even if Dave Mustaines' Duck's voice is quite hard to imitate). good job from the lead guitar player also : so awesome, guys !
I saw this video like 10 years ago when I was starting my guitar journey, now I can say that Im good and this video insipired me a lot, thank you for that.
@mazey90 Thanks so much for watching and commenting - yeah the singer might've gotten into the Di'anno groove earlier in the set when we covered Phantom Of The Opera haha.
Long time no speak man. Great to hear from you. Congrats on approaching 600 subs on your channel too!!! \m/ Yeah I miss live playing but at the same time it takes so much practice to sound good... haha.
Ive watched a few of this guyz guitr cover vids, but this is the first full band cover vid ive seen. They all did an outstanding job IMO. Have yet to hear the original vesion of this song but definately gonna look it up now
Hahha thanks very much for watching and commenting! The fact that this was our last gig as a band added some extra energy to it, especially by the time we hit this part of the set list....
Sweep Picking: crowd -> unimpressed
Tapping: crowd -> impressed
What an irony xD
Tapping is something they can visually appreciate, whereas sweeping is a little more subtle, unless you're blazing around the neck like Becker or Loomis =) Thanks for watching and commenting!
+Nathan Marchack couldn't have said it better myself
you love posting the same shit everywhere huh
Ercan Akyürek hahahaha I know, by the way, I play that part with tapping lol
Ercan Akyürek definitely, I play that part tapped too because it's so much easier if there were guitarists in the crowd they'd know it's harder picked.
Lol the lead guitarist is just like "yeah, I play this. No big deal"
Thanks for watching and commenting! I wish I still remembered how to play this haha.
This bassist is one of the best I've ever seen
Yeah he did an amazing job here =) Thanks for watching and commenting!
+Nathan Marchack yeah. As a bass player/enthusiast, I'm just happy I can hear the bass lol
Seriously, he nailed every note in Hallowed be thy name cover as well
Really good, specially the vocals.
+Marcelo Bassalo Cheers, really appreciate it!
The vocals aren't even right...
yes, and the guitar man!!!! woow!!!
Lead guitar level: Asian
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Haha, thanks very much for watching and commenting!
that singer!
he sounds very like Rob Halford to me! great voice
I'm not a big fan of Mustaine's voice so I really liked their version. The music was tight and the solo's were perfect.
\m/ Appreciate the support!!! Thanks for watching and commenting and happy new year!
The solo wasn't perfect
I'd rather say vocals was better than Mustaine's (I personally felt Megadeth needed This man's Vocals on the song) Solo was improvised a lil but 99% similar!
That was dope! The bassist sounded sick even tho David ellefson uses a pick
+SergeantZaf03 thanks very much for watching and commenting!
Surprisingly very good vocals
Stellar performance by everyone, but I really want to commend the singer. He added his own flavor to the vocal work, instead of just trying to sound like Mustaine like a lot of other covers do. Great work!

the bassist, the guitarists, the vocalist, the drummer
excellent work
ps: playing a megadeth song with a Hammet signature guitar, what an irony :D
