Why does Taran review all the bad stuff?
To be honest this was a really good review as to why it was a bad product. well thought out arguements and highlighting key failures of the product.

For some reason almost everyone who tries to start something on Kickstarter just fails, but they don't want to disappoint the crowd so they give out what they have so people will think that they tried.

Kickstarter should be used to gather funding to do the second stage of research and development, not the final stage of marketing and distribution. The first stage of prototyping is already done before the kickstarter.

The reason is simple: the people who're able to do this right usually don't need kickstarter.
This is by far the most detailed and complete product burn I have ever seen, done in a way that only Taren could. Hats off, and congrats on playing to the strengths of your team!

I ride an Airwheel x3 around my university. It is a self balancing electric unicycle, but unlike the one linus reviewed a while ago, it doesn't have a seat. You just stand on it. It's hard to learn for some people, but once you do, it's seamless. I ride it everywhere, even in the buildings and into class. I used it to cover about 85 miles total last semester. It only does 12 kph, so it's not fast enough for the street, but it is so small and easily controllable that it works perfectly on the sidewalk.

+Not Joe (Nacho) I thought the exact same thing when he said one thousand US. A magic pie drop in kit, expensive ass battery included, costs less than that. Granted you have to supply the bike to add it to, but the magic pie v5 is a pretty high end ride, less 'assisted pedal power' and more 'throttle only, better regulate the speed for street legal ride' power.

I love Taran, he reminds me of my friend Dan from high school. He'd usually be quite analytical and difficult to impress, but when something did impress him, that meant it was fucking amazing. He and Taran are so good at breaking down why something sucks.

You should check out the other good electric longboards, such as the Boosted Board and the awesome looking drop through Evolve bamboo or carbon fibre skateboard
