It's clear that Manson is for folks who like their thoughts challenged. I've been a fan since about 05 and it was always the non intellectual or religious folk that really didn't like him. I remember getting an album and being so excited for the knowledge that is jam packed in his work from the live performances to the hidden features on mechanical animals CD. You learned so much just by researching the lyrics.
As an religious guy that calls himself decently intelligent, I listened to him and went to his concert in the 90s. He was popular with most of the youth of the 90s. The hip hop crowd didn't love him, it was parents and news that didn't like him. 90s kids loved this guy to the tune of 50 million records sold.

I remember when I first saw him on TV. I was 10 and The Beautiful People video had just come out. Been in love with him ever since. His nonconformity has helped me stay strong when people try to suppress my personality and choices. I saw him in concert in 2018. I was very close to the stage and it was absolutely amazing. I've always wanted to meet him and pick his brain.

I'm 55 and still listen to Marilyn Manson. I agree with the girl who said, "His music is just fun for me." Art is about making us feel emotions through anyway you can convey them, and Marilyn has always been head to toe, a theatrical one man show. I don't know if 'anyone' can 'always' know exactly where he's coming from with the imagery he chooses, but if you don't get caught up in "what does he mean by this" and just allow yourself to flow with it and take it in...it's a very, very, very cool ride. : ) IMO

Creative guy, a lot of his music speaks about a lot of social/political/societal problems. Very interlinked with philosophical ideas (not surprising since he did study philosophy) and it's not surprising that he has these features in his music as he used to be involved in journalism. "Satanic music" I was raised Catholic and have been a Manson fan for years and I've never considered his music to be "satanic". I think (in my personal opinion) that Manson has always pointed out the many flaws with religion and how it's designed as a means of control over the masses. His music is pure art and self expression above all.
