My indoor only cat Dexter has started licking and scratching himself like crazy (started about 2 months ago and has gotten worse). He never did this before. He now has claw marks on his neck and cheek areas mostly. My vet says to get a flea collar, but he doesn't have fleas. My wife is allergic to fleas, so that is not the issue. We did move around 3 months ago, so maybe he's stressed from that? I don't know what to do. The vets are useless. They put my last cat on Atopica which almost killed him from the strokes and vision problems it caused. He was then put on steroids which ultimately led to his death I think.
