The floppy data ribbon connector has a red wire down one side which has to be on the power connector side of the drive at the back, it looks as if you have it plugged in the wrong way round, plus the cd rom and hard drives have a connection configuration jumper on the back of the drives.
Yes I am familiar with the ps/2 interface. I told my computer illiterate friend about it and he asked if it had anything to do with the Playstation 2 😂
Been there, done that with my main pc. i built it on a budget so i used the case from a dimension 4600 but last year i bought a thermaltake case for it

Yes I did have the IDE cables plugged in the wrong way. Thanks for that advice 👍

Pc used to use port called PS2 port for mouse and keyboard before usb standard,nothing to do PS2 console if your wondering.
