1968 was the first time that the Eurovision Song Contest was broadcast in colour.[1] The countries that broadcast it in colour were France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden and the United Kingdom, although in the UK it was broadcast as an encore presentation in colour on BBC Two the next day. Many Eastern European countries as well as Tunisia broadcast the contest.
I'm so happy that Spain won with such a beautiful entry. Congratulations Massiel, you deserved it! 🥳🎉🎊👏🏻. And apart from this, Spanish people could finally say: "Yay! We have finally won the Eurovision Song Contest! We thought that this would be impossible and in the end we did it! Ole!"
Massiel se dió a conocer en México con esta canción, pero con la que sonó más fuerte y fue súper famosa en México fue con "Rosas en el mar", de mis canciones favoritas.
Something so native, not only tongue language or body language but a friendly music hugs you ❤️🥰 I am sure real Spanish ESC fans miss these years and they find "Zorra" a bit bizarre but both performances are hot 😊😊😊
Maybe, but remember that those real hardcore Eurovision fans in the arena all sang along to Zorra. But you're right, overall, the quality of Spanish songs has kinda tanked in the 21st century, actually since 1999. Generally speaking, these old songs were better. Only SloMo was actually good, while some others like Quédate Comigo were OK and Eurovision worthy.
Also love her music post Eurovision victory and I share my birthday with her ❤ Aug 2 Sometime last year I met a lady from Spain who was a fan of hers and was surprised that I knew her. Massiel is like Cher of Spain. She did retire from performing/recording though will attend special events. Hope she is doing amazing ❤
FUN FACT: "La, La, La" was the song performed by Massiel at Eurovision 1968 the song was composed by the two members of the Duo Dinamico. Firstly, Joan Manuel Serrat was chosen to performed the song, Joan intented to perform the song in Catalan but Franco refused his proposal. One week before the contest, Massiel was asked to replace Joan Manuel Serrat as Spain's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest. Massiel represented Spain in London, she performed 15th on the night of the contest and got 29 points beating United Kingdom the favorite of the contest by 1 point. This was the first victory for Spain at Eurovision.
Dress by Courreges. She flew to Paris to buy it herself in the designer´s boutique. In a recent interview she said she still has the dress very well "preserved". Still alive and in a good mood .

La primera victoria de España en Eurovisión. Iba a ser Joan Manuel Serrat el que interpretase este tema pero al final Massiel vino de su gira por México y en cuestión de días se aprendió la letra y la tradujeron a varios idiomas.
altho she may have not appeared physically in this year's Junior contest in Madrid, I'm sure she's proud of Andria for winning the contest and to Chloe Dela Rosa for her great performance as well
Some participating broadcasters didn't fully broadcast it in colour (PAL or SECAM) until a couple of years later, the host broadcaster at the time, the BBC in the United Kingdom, first broadcast it on BBC One live in black and white, the channel has not switched to PAL colour until a year later, BBC Two rebroadcast the contest in colour the following day in colour (they had a full colour service since 1967).

1 part win ( 1/4 stare with others) , 1 ultra questionable win backhanders exchanged rumours galore) and 1 very very very sour grapes ....bad losers it came 3rd!!!!!!!!!
I don’t believe the rumours that Franco bought the Spanish victory in 1968, just because Congratulations was so much better than La La La. It was not. Congratulations is cheesy and basic. Sorry! However Spain got really robbed in the 60s. Both of Conchita Bautista’s entries and both of Raphael’s entries should have been at least top 5. The votes of the juries were 100 % based on politics regarding Spain and Portugal back then. That’s why I think it’s a bit strange that Spain suddenly were in the top 4 every year between 1968 and 1973.
A reminder back then, all the acts have to sing in their native language of the country they represented, thankfully that rule was relaxed, otherwise it would feel like a schlager festival with all of the "la la la..." songs.
Yeah, but in some languages, mine included, you have to use lala sounds to make up for it, because you can't form a melody in this language. There's a reason why Nocturne had such few words and why Ulveham hadn't got any actual words in its chorus. And yes, I'm glad as hell, they got rid of it.
It was a very questionable stretch of the imagination to say it was a Spanish win!!!!! ....you do need to check your history books if you think politics was not seriously involved in the 1968 contest!!!!! The name Franco comes to mind,
