sonic the hedgehog is sega's mascot and the eponymous protagonist of the sonic the hedgehog series. sonic the hedgehog is an anthropomorphic hedgehog born with the ability to run faster than the speed of sound, hence his name, and possesses lightning-fast reflexes to match. as sonic the hedgehog species implies, sonic can also roll up into a concussive ball, primarily to attack enemies.
the first sonic game, released in 1991 for the sega genesis, was developed after sega requested a mascot character to compete with nintendo's mascot mario. its success helped sega become one of the leading video game companies during the fourth generation of video game consoles in the early 1990s. sega technical institute developed sonic rap battle the next three sonic games, sonic rap battle plus the spin-off sonic vs flash sonic spinball. after a hiatus during the unsuccessful saturn era, the first major 3d sonic game, sonic adventure, sonic was released in 1998 for the dreamcast. sega exited the console market and continuing the series on nintendo, xbox, and playstation systems.
while so often have sonic vs the flash unique game mechanics sonic the hedgehog and stories and fast-paced gameplay. and shadow the hedgehog, have starred in spin-offs. sonic the franchise has crossed sonic the hedgehog over with other video game franchises in games such as mario & sonic, sega all-stars, sonic and super smash bros
the flash (or simply flash) is the name of several popular comic book characters from the dc comics universe. nicknamed the "scarlet speedster", all versions of the flash who have the ability to travel at a very high speed, use superhuman reflexes and defy the laws of physics. the original flash first appeared in flash comics #1 (cover date january 1940 / release month november 1939). this fictional character was flash created by writer gardner fox and harry lampert.
thus far, at least four different characters each of whom somehow gained the power of the "speed force" have assumed the role of the flash in dc's history: college athlete jay garrick and barry's flash grandson bart allen the flash who becomes "impulse", the second hero flash the flash rap battle known as kid flash. each version of the flash has been a key member of at least one of dc's premier teams: the flash justice society of america, the justice league, flash rap battle and the teen titans. most of the flash stories take place in the fictional city of central city.
the flash is one of dc comics' most popular sonic vs flash characters and has been integral to the publisher's many reality-changing "crisis" storylines over the years. sonic vs flash the original meeting of the golden the flash age flash jay garrick and silver age flash barry allen in "flash of two worlds" (1961) introduced the multiverse storytelling concept to dc readers, which would become the basis for many dc stories in the years flash to come.

I'm absolutely obsessed with that last line. Not only is it a reference to Quicksilver from Marvel, who is pretty widely accepted as slower than the Flash, but it's also a reference to the Olympics, where the silver medal is given to the person in second place
Also to pair with the fact Sega squeezes Sonic for a quick buck instead of a sustained franchise

And also because Quicksilver died he's saying the Sonic franchise is dead, and because Sonic collect gold rings in order to survive, so he's implying that even after collecting the silver coin it's game over, you still died.

"News Flash! There's new flash! He Zooms past! Leaves you last! Its the blue dash!" This line is absolutely brutal. Sonic is explaining how in the show of the Flash, one of the villains is named Zoom and he leaves a blue dash instead of red. In the show, Zoom almost kills Barry by breaking almost everybone in his body because he was way faster than him. Sonic is comparing himself to Zoom saying he is his new villain. I love that its so subtle but has so much back story to it. Absolutely genius! 👏

For anyone who doesn't know, in Adventure 2 (or Heroes, I forgot the game), the character Rouge has an alternate skin wearing a dominatrix outfit (don't ask why). Just a possible reference and most likely not the main part of the bar
There is also a Flash villain called The Top and he is a member of the Rogues.

The Flash did leave Supes in the dust once. I think the scene goes like this: Flash is running somewhere. Supes is trying to stop him. He says that they’ve raced many times and neither won. The Flash says that “those were for charity, Clark” and immediately zooms forward

This is one of the most equal battles I've seen on this channel. Flash has some really good flow and disses, but Sonic doesnt hold back either. Its genuinely harder to pick a winner the more I listen to this.

Flash's second verse is deadly. This flow is amazing from the start, the punches are heavy, and the switch up toward the end is amazing.

Backround: Both characters are know for being infinity fast, and both occupy many different forms across many continuitys.

"Bring me in and the mike is gone, a gaming icon speeding past your ass since '91" Sonic was released in 1991, other than that, its a pretty generic bragging bar.
"I fire up the track and fry up the 'fastest man', already cracked an egg, now I'll put a Flash in the pan" Sonic's main rival is Dr. Eggman (hence "Already cracked an egg") other than that, it's a filler bar
"I'm the MegaMan for Sega fans, dedicated to best foes" This line is just a popularity brag
"You could never Top me even if you went Rogue" Rogue if a Sonic character and the Flash has gone rogue a few times, I'm not sure why Top is capitalized though.
"Flash back to the past, in case you didn't know, your mommy kicked the bucket cause your to slow" Flash is capitalized because it's a pun on his name, both characters do all sorts of time travel shenanigans, in most continuities Flash's mom gets murdered, and "Your to slow" is one of Sonic's catchphrases.
"You sunk into the guilt but couldn't take the blame for it, cuz when she got out of the picture your daddy got framed for it" Flash's father got blamed for his mom's death, and also picture and framed in the same line is obviously a pun.
"But I will give you the benefit of the doubt your family can be- Nevermind- you turned your ex to .exe" Sonic was going to say happy before the hyphen, Sonic.exe is a super popular (and atrociously written) creepypasta, and one of Flash's exes got brutally murdered.
"I feel suspense but it need some sense, couldn't you have tried this sooner" Filler line
"Always squeeze in trend to receive more friends but still can't blowup? Okay Sonic Boomer?" Sonic always tries to be "hip" and "cool" but 9/10 it always come off as horribly cringy, Okay Sonic Boomer is an obvious reference to the ok Boomer trend but also Sonic Boom is one of the most awful, atrocious games ever created by a big company
"Work and love are two ends of the rope, you keep the ring in the pocket and let her sleep in the friendzone" The "ring in the pocket" is a condom joke and a reference to Sonic's gold rings, Amy Rose is madly in love with Sonic but he doesn't feel the same way about her, and Sonic games are usually split into zones.
"Put on some clothes or do I need to address, That Flash is my name, and not a request" Just a joke about how Sonic only wears gloves
"Drop out of the Olympics, it's a big fat excuse, keep living in the Shadow of people fighting in red suits" Sonic Olympics is a game, Shadow the hedgehog is as much of an iconic as Sonic by now, and both Mario and Flash are more popular than Sonic and wear red suits.
"I've been in first place since before you were born I make new 52 you make more 34" Flash has existed longer than Sonic, new 52 is a comic issue so iconic even the most casual superhero fan know about and respect it, and rule 34 of the internet states "if it exists, there is porn of it" and there is a lot of it for Sonic. On rule34.xxx there were 55855 images when I started writing this comment and there is now 55934.
"Cute set up, but it really ain't my style, it doesn't take Tails to tell I'll run a mile" Tails real name is Miles, other than that this is pretty much a filler bar.
"I can make you transform before you attack back, just drive into Sonic's and you'll return as fat Flash" Sonic is a restaurant in America and fat Flash was a very insensitive depiction of fat people in the early days of DC.
"I'm running on water, in seconds I'm past it, while you flow like someone who can't swim" Sonic dies if he touches water (in the original games) and flow is related to both swimming and spitting bars.
"I know the truth hurts you zoo heard of losers, you cursed Sega so much they should call you the blue slur" Sonic is called the blue blur and (if I remember correctly) one of his voice actors said some racial slurs a few times.
"I'll teach you the speed force a free course in spitting a verse, you bit the dust like this was Crisis on Infinite Earths" The speed force gives the flash his abilities and stops him from tearing apart himself and the world(s) around him with his speed, and the Flash died in the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" comic issue.
"News Flash! There's a new Flash! He zooms past, leaves you last, it's the blues dash!" pretty generic bar, I don't think I have to explain it.
"You went out with a terrorist just to get used at S.T.A.R?" I know Flash went out with a terrorist but I don't remember who, and S.T.A.R is a terrorist organization if I remember correctly.
"I guess we could say your date took banging a bit to far" If I remember correctly, the terrorist he dated exploded something/someone, also an obvious joke about banging your date.
"Let me give you an idea of a future you can peak at, I'll dominate DC as if it stood for Dreamcast" Flash looks into the future a lot, and there was a big ordeal with Sonic and the Dreamcast system.
"I'd diss all your forms but I wouldn't make it through, cause those OC's make me sick Soni-Choo!" Sonic has a ton of forms, the Sonic community make the second highest amount of OCs in any fandom (only getting beaten out by the Undertale fandom) Soni-Choo is a pun on the make me sick line, and also a reference to Sonichu, a Sonic OC made by the Internet icon Chrischan, who is without any exaggeration or hyperbole, the most interesting person to ever live.
"In 8 whole years you pulled a whole route, from 'gotta go fast' to 'gotta get sued'" As I said earlier gotta go fast is Sonic's catchphrase, and I know Sega got sued over something so if anyone in the comments could tell me exactly what it was, it would be greatly appreciated.
"You seem to be unaware, so better face facts, this rodent is roadkill on both the rap and race track" This is a pretty generic bar, I don't think I have to explain it.
"Your always getting stomped out and pummeled by metal Sonic but the man of steel I face is left in dust in my comics" Metal Sonic usually beats normal Sonic, and the Man of steel is another name for Superman and the Flash is usually faster than Superman in most forms.
"Your latest animation tried to stack up a Green hill but you rushed for bucks, guess your the proof that speed kills" Greenhills is the first level in the first Sonic game but in this context is also being used as a synonym for money, also in the first trailer for the new Sonic movie the design was clearly super rushed and they got a lot of backlash for it.

Overall: Other than a couple filler lines, everything from the beat to the animation, flow, and lyrics fit the characters perfectly, for this reason, I give the battle a 9.5/10.

Sonic is explaining how in the show of the Flash, one of the villains is named Zoom and he leaves a blue dash instead of red. In the show, Zoom almost kills Barry by breaking almost every bone in his body because he was way faster than him. Sonic is comparing himself to Zoom saying he is his new villain. I love that its so subtle but has so much back story to it. Absolutely genius!
That line and the 'you're too slow' line killed it for me. Everyone's overlooking that first verse because it's so early on in that battle. Sonic came out HARD.
