Recently retired after 40 years in EMS. Always went out with a Leatherman tool ( started with the original ending with a Wave ) and a pair of trauma shears. Never the two should meet. When my shears got bloody they went into the bio bag and I grabbed a new pair. With the complex mechanism of the Raptor you will never get it completely clean. My 2 cents.
This is 100% true. The Leatherman sheers are cool for people who will never use them for their intended purpose. The first time I cut off feces impregnated clothes on a CVA patient, I put the company issued $3 pair of trauma sheers in biohazard. When I got back to the station management wanted me to clean them. I handed them a new $3 pair of trauma sheers. Best $3 I have ever spent.
Also very useful for rescuing seals :)

It was expensive before 2018. Now the price is ridiculous. It's not a tool anymore.
