    Thank you so much for this!!! My test was so easy and made so much sense to me thanks to you. Your videos are perfect simplicity and I am all clarity. :)

    i love each of the colour diagrams you use; they are great recall helps; thankyou; i will come back to your work and join the dots you generate to those in other presentations to see the bigger picture; the question posed at the end is a great way to contemplate the big picture and refine the answer; the answer gets bigger and bigger;

    Another great video easy to follow. For question D though would it be clearer if the last word was matrix instead of membrane? Also there are 2 mitochondrial membranes anyway.

    Love your work as a former biology teacher I say your dedication in your essays, which are ultimately pointed at the student , well I wish that I was that good I haven’t been in the field for 30 years and my memory can be fussy on what o learned but o never lost my fascination for the magic of the subject matter. My question is about the glucose molecule. I ask where is the energy stored in the molecule itself ? The carbons are blown off as co2 the O and H are left

    Good video. This is quite a bit to recall. Does anyone have any suggestions in terms of pneumonics to remember the steps? Thanks.

      ABCDE When the penny dropped about thirty five years ago on how energy and oxygen connect, i recall the morning doing my usual hour of tai chi before the birds would wake; all of a sudden i entered this space of indescribable stillness and calm and then i joined the dots intuitively about the mitochondria and what it does; i wrote a simplistic song that came to me in that moment; it combines the first five letters of the alphabet, and goes like this: it is only I who can discover energy; it comes from the air i breathe and circulate throughout my body and soul; each presentation you watch on the mitochondria, on glycolysis and respiration is a part of that ABC process; the important thing is to cultivate your energy by regular deep breathing exercises to enable an intuitive intelligence to capture the simplicity of the links in the chain between the air, the breath and the energy warehouse at the cellular level. oxygen is the key molecule, the key energy configuration to open the lock. It is a vast universe of wonderment how this happens; i love how the presenter describes NAD as a H+ taxi; this is what Fe does with O2 at the level of the heme pigment in the HB molecule; oxygen is shuttled (circulated) on an iron horse; the process is complex but videos like this must be interlinked with others on the subject to one's own intuition because once you get it at that deep inner level your fascination for oxygen and the mitochondria will never die. Good luck; breathe slowly through the nose in and out quietly, expanding fully, exhaling completely, gently, and gradually over time with practice you will grasp how beautiful and simple symbiosis really is.

    Thank you for this video very simple. However, I have a question during the last step of CR where does the Oxygen that made water waste come from?

    What I didn't understand is why reason there are 8 hidrogens atom since because Nad took only 2 H? Woudn't it be 10 hidrogens left? Because Pyruvate molecule has 4 H instead of 5 as the result of the 10 hidrogens left when NAD arrested only 2. Then what happened with those two more H?

    hello,, sir your videos are so beautifully simple. May I ask does Krebs cycle take place in humans too? O.o

    • @BeverlyBiology
      @BeverlyBiology  8 лет назад +2

      +sobster123 The Krebs cycle is a process that occurs in the mitochondria of all eukaryotes. So, yes the Krebs cycle occurs in the mitochondria found within human cells.
