NXT is like the show for the future Talents of WWE and the same can be said for NXT UK . NXT UK is the place for the new Talents in Europe and both shows having their own tourplans and arenas and PPVS and talentrosters the tourplans of NXT and NXT UK arent as hard as it it on Raw and Smackdown. As a fulltime Wrestler you have 300 schedules a year
and 200 - 250 Matches that includes the houseshows PPVS and the weeklyshows ( raw and smackdown ) .Undertaker once said that he was Wrestling six Matches each and every week in the 90s and Ric flair back in the day wrestled also five or six matches a week but ric sometimes did two or three sixty minute matches in one week . And recently you reacted to the worst Wrestlinginjuries including the eternal bleeding of Mick Foley in the Hell in a cell Match with the undertaker here some facts the first fall from the cell throw the table was planned the second fall throw the cell wasnt planned and Taker walked out there on that night with a broken food I hope you have the opurtunity to watch the entire Match .

Allow me to explain . NXT is set up as WWE'S 'Developmental Programme' which is on Wednesdays. initially NXT was like a reality show starting off as a segment on RAW in the early 2010s. it got its own show later on and they started recruiting independent wrestlers as well as some people they could mould. they also created a Branch of NXT for the UK which pretty much destroyed the UK Independent scene by cherry picking its biggest stars and holding them out of uk indie shows . NXT was better in my opinion than the main roster until recently when it was rebranded and WWE had a major shuffle during COVID . NXT'S biggest stars are mainly at AEW , some have stayed in WWE

For your two main questions:
1) Bare-foot man is named Riddle (formerly Matt Riddle). He fought in the UFC but was fired because he smokes weed and back when he fought Dana White and the UFC banned that substance so Riddle was let go (and they actually had a bit of a public feud). Then Riddle started wrestling and got all the way to WWE.
2) NXT is like WWE's minor league/training center. It has it's own show dedicated to it, but as someone gets popular or very good in the ring, they get promoted from NXT to either Raw or Smackdown. It's filmed in a smaller venue to help coach these new wrestlers and the venue is attached to their "Performance Center" where they have their training facilities.

One other side note: it is filmed at a TV production college, Full Sail University... By a mixed team of experienced production staff and students... The idea being not only do they develop future wrestlers, but they develop future teams for all areas of the production... Corey Graves as a commentator is a classic example of this... And since Vince hasn't been screaming I. His ears every week he has become a lot more natural and enjoyable (like Michael Cole, tbh)

NXT 2016-2019 was the best thing about WWE in the last 20 years.
NXT is WWE's developmental territory where they teach new trainees/newly signed wrestlers from outside of the WWE company to wrestle the WWE style. it plays on wednesday nights i believe in a smaller arena with a smaller audience.
NXT no longer plays on wednesday nights. The show was moved to tuesday nights and was rebranded as NXT 2.0 to where it was reverted back into being a developmental territory. It was considered as a third main brand back in 2019 till it got rebranded.

NXT was nothing like Heat. It was WWE's developmental territory, and ironically was the only place where you could watch 5 star wrestling within WWE. It was recorded at Full Sail University and aired on Wednesday nights. It's been since replaced by NXT 2.0. NXT's biggest stars often were given no opportunity when moving to the main roster, and that motivated many to leave for greener pastures (i.e. AEW, ROH, Impact or NJPW), such as Keith Lee, Adam Cole, ReDragon, Swerve, Toni Storm, Malakai/Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano, Deonna Purazzo, etc.
Gargano hasn't signed with anyone yet tho, but there's a possibility he might go any wrestling companies. Also I really hope he comes back to WWE now that Triple H is in charge, but I'll support him wherever he goes
NXT is WWE's developmental territory which was mostly taped at Full Sail University in Florida prior to the initial covid lockdown in 2020 all the way from 2012 when Triple H repackaged the brand.
Most of their TakeOver events ("Pay-Per-View" quality shows) were held at the same arenas as like Summerslam, Survivor Series and where ever the Hall Of Fame, RAW & Smackdown shows were held during or week after Wrestlemania.
Since 2020, NXT was moved to the WWE Performance Center (still in Florida) at which they've now called it the Capitol Wrestlling Center.
NXT's product was very much different to the main roster, mainly because it was Triple H's pet project, considering that he was head booker / head of creative, and that Vince hardly ever watched it.
NXT is WWE development system, it's on a Wednesday night. It's filmed within the WWE performance centre, there is two brands shown here, the main NXT and then NXT UK
At one time NXT used to be WWE's sort of farm system or minor leagues. But now it's not only the WWE's developmental arena but it has become a very popular brand in it's own write. And yes Matt Riddle does wrestle barefoot. He's now on WWE Raw on Monday nights.
In short, NXT was the predecessor to FCW, which was their developmental program. A few years in, it was taken over by HHH and he turned it into more of an alternative third brand/super-indie. It did well on WWE Network, so it was moved to cable where they made the "genius" decision to air it opposite AEW. It got slaughtered in the ratings, so Vince turned it back into a developmental brand. All of the stuff here was during the HHH era. It's not like this anymore.
It never got slaughtered by AEW in the ratings... They went back and forth with 900k viewers each every week for an entire year until Vince decided to rebrand it to NXT 2.0.

NXT is the brainchild of TRIPLE H (Who FYI now Vince McMahon has retired has paved the way for TRIPLE H to take control of all WWE Creative and the hiring/firing of the talent)
The NXT Black and Gold brand is Legendary.. Many talents may soon be on RAW and Smackdown.. and even back from AEW now Triple H along with Wife Stephanie (and Nick Khan) have been placed into Power of WWE..

NXT currently has 2 shows ... The main NXT is flimed out of the performance center in orlando florida it's show is on Tuesday . and NXT Uk filmed in the UK it airs on Thursday . before the pandemic they would have nxt PPV's called Take over ... that would normally air on Saturdays while the main wwe ppv would be on sunday . recently they have just been doing ppvs in their regular tuesday 2 hour tv timeslot . Nxt would also tour .. I got to see them near where I live in Canada .. on the other side of north america ... at that time Finn Balor (from Ireland) was with them .. and Tyler Breeze (who is from my hometown of Penticton BC ) I also know his dad , step mom and step sister really well

NXT is a blast. If you attend one of their local shows(not in the Orlando arena) the venues are usually small and the tickets are really cheap general admission. It's a good time
These clips from when NXT was at its best, known as the Black and Gold brand, shown on Tuesday nights at 1AM on BT Sports 1. HHH and William Regal ran the show. Until HHH had severe heart problems and Vince took over. It’s now known as NXT 2.0 and is nowhere near as hard hitting. But hopefully now Vince isn’t involved with the WWE any longer and hunter and Shawn Michaels are over seeing it again it will be better again. The barefoot guy Matt Riddle is now on the main roster in a tag team with Randy Orton.

Several wrestlers have gone barefoot. Superfly Jimmy Snuka, Umaga, Yokozuna, Haku just to name a few of the popular names. Usually it's wrestlers from a Samoan background that do it though. Oppps forgot one of my favorites from the 80's....Kamala the Ugandan Giant.
Ok you have Monday night raw on Monday night then on Tuesday nights you have NXT Which is basically the brand that has superstars that are not on raw or SmackDown so not main roster wrestlers and then on Friday night you have SmackDown
Not a wrestling fan anymore. Was in the late 80s and 90s. My Dad was the manager of a huge Ford dealership in NY where The Undertaker and Paul Baerer did a meet and greet. I met him hours before cause i went to work with my Dad. It was a few weeks after someone tombstoned him wrong and cracked his skull. He still had the half cast and bandages on but you saw his face and knee it was him from his demonic eyes and well Paul Bearer was 100% the real deal. They both signed many copies of the promo posters (for signing) and i still have some in storage. I will never get rid of them. My Dad passed in 2003 so the sentiment is more valuable then money.

"Why are they so small?" Because the social climate among some '90s youth brought about the denunciation of the attraction and spectacle of massive people dominating others and being matched up against each other. In its place came a fixation on technical wrestling in independent circles, with people "competing" who were far closer to average size, which eventually spread to WCW and WWF. With the full-blown exposure of "kayfabe", that mutated eventually into the nonsense that goes on nowadays in which no one even cares about technical wrestling and so now they just make a complete joke out of things as mentioned in my previous comment.
And then, as you can see with that Keith Lee guy, they repopularize the very thing that defined wrestling in the '80s and '90s with the big guy just throwing people around, but they do so in accordance with the whole ideology which is prevalent nowadays in terms of who is carrying it forward.

Furthermore, that ultra-choreographed...stuff which is predicated on the awareness that everyone knows it's a "work" and acknowledging that to the fans really just makes it pointless for any of it to exist as far as I'm concerned.

NXT was created in 2012 as a developmental system to replace the current system of FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling). Triple H was still new in his coporate role, looked at what they were doing with FCW and decided that it was time for a MAJOR upgrade. They invested in a multi-million dollar facility in Orlando and dubbed it the 'Performance Center'. Right off the bat though, NXT wasn't evan a developmental system because they took guys who had already been wrestling for years all over the world, put them in NXT and taught them the WWE way of wrestling. Samoa Joe is one name who had been wrestling for years, finally got the call from WWE once they stopped discriminating against big boys and he went to NXT. AJ Styles though, for whatever reason he didn't have to. This incarnation of NXT held TV Tapings every few weeks and then a special every few months called 'TakeOver' which were their version of Pay-Per-View. The first TakeOver was the first show to air live on the WWE Network. Over time, the NXT brand got big enough to where the TakeOvers happened on the weekend of Main Roster Pay-Per-Views. They'd run the building Raw was in the following Monday and they'd fill it. The tapings stayed in the one building though. AEW started, NXT was moved to TV and expanded to two hours to compete with them and got the shit kicked out of them. NXT even brought in Main Roster guys just to compete with Dynamite, Finn Balor moved back there to be the main guy of the brand. NXT eventually got moved off Wednesday and over to Tuesday. The 36th TakeOver happened in August 2021 and then NXT got re-branded into an actual developmental system called 'NXT 2.0'. All the veterans they currently had were either fired or moved to the Main Roster. Some of those names had been there since 2015

The guy with no shoes is Matt Riddle. He’s a former UFC champion who had most of his UFC wins wiped from the record books for failing multiple drug test. He is basically the new Rob Van Dam.
Keith Lee, one of the wrestlers in the clips, is currently half of AEW’s World Tag Team champions.
Other people have explained that NXT was basically WWE's "developmental territory" but it was a damn fine promotion in its own right because Vince wasn't constantly meddling in it. He pretty much let HHH and Shawn Michaels do their own thing with it and what they ended up with was a lot of very good indie talent mixed in with some good young wrestlers as well. They look smaller because HHH went more for smaller, more agile guys than the big slow hosses that Vince was always in love with.
The irony is that NXT went up against AEW Dynamite on Wednesdays night from 2019-2021 and lost. Badly. That resulted in Vince reinventing NXT as "NXT 2.0" and making it far, far worse. A lot of NXT's best talent from the "black and gold era," like this, are now in AEW. Some others may now be coming to main-roster WWE now that Vince is gone, thank God.

I know many have already answered, but they're showing clips of both NXT and NXT UK, which are developmental programs for the WWE. They recruit (for the most part) new talent, and this is where they get to show their skills on TV after going through training. If they do well, they eventually get brought up to the main roster (RAW or SmackDown). If not, they keep training if there's improvement, or let go if there's not.
Some from the main roster have also been "sent down" to NXT if they have nothing going on in the main rosters (or if they were brought up too early lol).
Triple H what is the one that ran NXTAnd then now that Vince McMahon has retired natural place runs the entire business not just that brand but all of WWE

And with punishment for failing to "take down AEW," they moved to Tuesday Nights, made HHH in longer in charge for it, and changed the colors, the theme, the name, etc., and made it to NXT 2.0

Sunday Night Heat connected with the storylines happening on Monday Night Raw and Smackdown. NXT 2.0 & Main Event don’t connect to Raw and Smackdown.
NXT used to be pre-taped at Full Sail University. AEW then came along and NXT was no longer the place of interest to see something different than Raw & Smackdown, but AEW was. So AEW went to TV on Wednesday’s & NXT went to TV 2 Wednesday’s before that and both would be live shows and weekly. They started losing ratings badly, then the pandemic hit and all of wrestling took a ratings hit. NXT wasn’t interesting anymore so they moved to Tuesday and rebranded it as “NXT 2.0”. A lot of people like NXT 2.0 despite what haters say, and they’re focusing more on characters and stories while AEW focuses more on matches.
People are giving slightly false information. NXT STARTED as the developmental territory for WWE, it was a place where young talent could learn where the cameras were and how to generally act while on TV. But NXT turned into a 3rd brand for WWE (Developmental is now the Performance Center)...it was completely run by Triple H and for 8 years was bar none the brand which you would find the absolute best wrestling on the planet. That is until Vince got his hands on it in 2020 and ruined it...which then spawned this multicolored shitshow of a brand called NXT 2.0. From 2013-early 2020, there was just nothing like NXT...amazing talent, simple but interesting and effective storylines, and some of the best in-ring action you'll ever see. I miss old NXT so much.

What you're watching is the original black and gold NXT and NXT UK. The only time to do a film that the San marinas as raw SmackDown as if they're doing NXT takeovers but the regular shows were filmed for NXT was at the performance center and nxtuk was filmed only strictly in the UK. Also an NXT was on Wednesday while NXT UK was on Thursday.
In the timeframe you were watching clips from, it was essentially an Indy organization under the WWE banner... The idea being that Triple H would take the best from the Indy circuit and adapt them to the WWE way of doing things... Some people have actually said in the past that they would rather stay in NXT than be brought up to the main roster... Now, with Triple H in charge of the creative as a whole, along with talent relations, there is hope (and thus far it is looking promising) that the product as a whole will be more like the old NXT was. Side note:NXT 2.0 was designed as a watered down Vince controlled thing... Yes, they have good people, but they are stuck behind stupid gimmicks that would have been more in place in the late 80s/early 90s
Longstory short about NXT it's basically the minor leagues of the main roster where most newcomers join the company until they are proving they are the best then get main roster call up & most wrestlers enjoy being on NXT cuz they have better matches & the fans really let the wrestlers hear it even though the main rosters are improved since Triple H took over & if you want a match to watch Adam, look up Ricohet vs Adam Cole it's very good & trust me you'll become a Adam Cole fan Bay Bay! (The Bay Bay is his catchphrase he's had since New Japan Pro Wrestling & Ohio Valley Wrestling) also love the content bro, keep up the fantastic work
NXT is the "minor league" for WWE. By and far the best product they had until HHH was taken off of NXT creative and it became NXT 2.0. What you should look into are the highlights from the NXT Wargames matches!
Also most of the highflying moves you saw took nearly 6-8 years for them to perform & do it right to avoid hurting their fellow wrestlers cuz back in 2007 there was a accident that a guy didn't do his move right, it broke the guy's neck luckily it didn't kill the guy but ended his career & almost paralized him for the rest of his life, just ask many legends like Bret Hart he got superkicked by Goldberg wrong & sadly it ended his career due to a concussion

NXT is wrestlers having fun matches in front of small but loyal crowds, then are called up with an alteration to their name/gimmick, largely forgotten about, and are released within 6 months. With Vince gone I hope this mentality changes.
