    Best review of the NM4. You're initial impression: WTF? Then it mostly won you over. Real time emotions. Love it.

    What a truly strange vehicle. Still, props to Honda for being willing to explore something new. It was interesting to see that flip up back rest. Thanks for showing us the ride!

      SoopaBee I did another test-ride with it, but haven't edited the footage yet. That backrest is very comfortable :)

    renegadebiker24 Hi, Thanks! Actually I have ridden it. I even have a video, but somehow I forgot to edit it. I loved the bike, I really did, one of the best bikes I've ridden. Cruiser with sporttourer power, loved it.

    • @renegadebiker24
      @renegadebiker24 9 лет назад +1

      iSlander You are Welcome. :) Great. That sucks that you were not able to edit it. Do you think you might do another review of it to post it on youtube? I do love the bike. To me, it is like a combination of a sportbike, touring bike with a cruiser, along with a pretty safe motorcycle with the ABS and Traction Control. I have over 2,000 miles on mine. What surprises me, is there is not a review by Motorcycle.com in their shootouts here on youtube. Do you think you would ever buy it over the NM4? I thought about eventually getting the NM4 as a second bike, but I think I might get a sport bike or a Harley Softail.

    • @iSlanderEST
      @iSlanderEST  9 лет назад

      I will edit it after my "Hiiumaa trip" videos.
      I actually don't own a NM4, I do have a NC700X. NM4 was a testride bike and I didn't actually plan to ride it. My plan was to ride CB650F and VFR1200XD, but they weren't in, so I took NM4 :D
      I totally agree with you about CTX1300. Awesome V4 engine etc.

    • @renegadebiker24
      @renegadebiker24 9 лет назад +1

      iSlander Cool. I look forward to seeing it. Yeah it is an awesome V4 engine too, and I am amazed that it starts in cold weather as well. I look forward to seeing those videos. I am uploading a video now that shows a Gas station cat that wanted to go for a ride on my motorcycle Thursday early morning while I was heading home from work, and getting home so I can get up in a little while to go to school. I am trying to get a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

    I'm going to put white flashing strobes,this way if someone is puling out,you can turn them on to get there attention,headlights do not work,people still don't see motorcycles.In American,people drive into big yellow school buses,yes really !!! Now they have white strobe lights on them,accidents have been reduced to very few.White strobes,can save lives.

      vac0002 People will not "not notice" you. I'm too tall for that bike, but in the Augustibluus (concert where Steven Seagal was invited and then invitation was canceled) I saw few guys where were short enough and bike was perfect for them.

    What an interesting beast. Not for me either. Back rest is pretty cool. Oh when ya hit the gravel my heart skipped a beat. Half expected it to take flight like a Judge (Dredd) bike.

    • @iSlanderEST
      @iSlanderEST  10 лет назад

      The gravel part wasn't bad at all, I was surprised too! Yep, Backrest is cool idea. But you can't lower it without stopping if its too high.

    It would be more interesting if you tried to continue explaining the features of the bike and what you like and what you don't like about it. We need more details. It is such a long video, but there are few comments. thanks.

    • @iSlanderEST
      @iSlanderEST  9 лет назад

      cynic150 Well, as may or may not have noticed, but I didn't know anything about the bike, since it wasn't the bike I wanted to test-ride. I went to test-ride couple of other bikes, but they were out, so I took this one instead. So I'm sorry for not knowing anything about the bike... It wasn't a review.

    Hi iSlander,
    Just curious what is out the door price that you got for 2014 Honda NM4? I saw the price MSRP quote as $10,999 but the dealer didn't give much discount based on MSRP. What would be a fair price for Out the door on this bike? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

    • @iSlanderEST

    I wish they'd design a bike with an anime style, but that has balls. The problem is that bike manufacturers don't want to move too far from the status quo, and to 'do' an anime bike properly you have to rethink the concept of a motorcycle quite a lot.
    Give it 1000-1400cc, recline the position more, or move it forward like a traditional racer position, extend the cowl to lower the wind blast, make the rear and the bottom larger so it isn't disproportionate and top-heavy. Keep a racing ethos as opposed to a cruiser ethos (think Hyabusa).
    This is an interesting experiment, but I worry that it will relegate 'anime' style bikes to granny scooters and concepts, instead of anyone making a real attempt at it.

    • @iSlanderEST
      @iSlanderEST  10 лет назад

      Restayvien Like the dealer said: another bike that looks mean but has almost no engine to speak of. The same engine is really good with NC series, but for that look, it should be something better.

    • @iSlanderEST

      dbest1a Weird in low speeds, felt like it want's to drop, normal at city speeds and no windprotection at highway speeds.

    as a curiosity (hope nobody asked this before) how does it decelerate? can you use a engine brake? how are the brakes? I have never ridden something with a auto gearbox.
    this concept where the bike changes the gears is just odd, why give the machine this decision when you are the one that should do it.

    • @iSlanderEST
      @iSlanderEST  10 лет назад

      Alexandru Dalak You can use engine brake, no problem at all. Brakes are OK, but could be better.
      I've tried Hondas DCT couple of times and I really like it, especially in town

    • @iSlanderEST
      @iSlanderEST  10 лет назад

      ***** If that question was meant for me, then I didn't say its weird bike because of the gearbox, it was weird how it handled, its not a really good slow-speed handling bike.

    • @tngchinghwa
      @tngchinghwa 9 лет назад

      iSlander i think he directed that qn towards dalak, dalak have u not driven any auto vehicles before? just press on the brakes, auto and manual works the same except for clutch

    • @AleCo_reviews_stuff
      @AleCo_reviews_stuff 9 лет назад

      I am in Europe and automatic gearbox is not something very common here. I sometime use engine brake instead of back brake.

    • @iSlanderEST
      @iSlanderEST  9 лет назад

      Alexandru Dalak You can use engine brake with DCT too.
      Automatic gearbox on bikes isn't common almost anywhere, because there are so few bikes with it.

    It's basically a scooter that Honda is probably going to try to market as a Crossover.
    26C is not? LOL sometimes our low temp doesn't' reach that in the summer.

    • @iSlanderEST
      @iSlanderEST  10 лет назад

      ***** I was in Italy about 8 years ago and spring low was around 26c, it was so cold there, but here its so hot. Reason is simple, humidity.
      This is like scooter yes. Some scooter clients were interested in it.

    Why chain driven? maybe Honda will go with shaft if this model sells well, honestly would have thought that Honda would have gone with shaft on such a futuristic looking bike, do we all really want to be wasting our time cleaning and maintaining chains in the future? I know I don't. Only my opinion. ps. what's so weird?

    • @iSlanderEST
      @iSlanderEST  10 лет назад

      Paul Osler I agree, I don't like its chain driven either.
      I'm too tall for the bike, the seating position was weird and I certainly did get some looks while riding this. People were wondering what I was riding :D

    • @mountainbikerpaul2267
      @mountainbikerpaul2267 10 лет назад +1

    • @iSlanderEST
      @iSlanderEST  10 лет назад

      Paul Osler Might be that Honda made it just because they could and if it sells, good, but if not, then no problem either.
