    I've been in love with cards and close-up magic for over 60 years. This is really sweet! Thanks for sharing this one. Time to get to work on this! Take care and be well....

    Really great trick. It teaches some valuable skills, for sure. And this is why I always say "once is a trick and twice is a lesson". Probably not a trick you can repeat if you have to pull a plan B out to force the card, but still... It's great that it is a trick with contingency plans in place if the spectator doesn't fall into the trap. Well done!

    what a great trick! i've subbed to you for several years and can see how much your confidence and teaching skill have improved. i'm not being condescending... you have been great from very beginning, imo.
    btw, i originally learned that face up force from harry lorraine's first book. i think he called it 'the pencil trick' (not to be confused with the joker's version)

    only noticed the switch after you said there was one, that got me with the force as iv never seen this one before will be trying it for sure! im more of a classic force kind of guy and if it doesnt go right, because that can sometimes happen, i just do another trick with the selections or have a fallback plan or whatevs

    If they tell you to stop on a card that isn’t the one you need, you can then ask them “Left or right”. If they say the same side the card is on (with the left side of your finger being ‘left’) tell them you’ll keep the side. If they say the opposite side, say you eliminate it. Repeat until you eliminate everything or they choose the card

    I think the card box really justifies the switch movement. For this switch to work, you have to hold the out jogged cards with your right hand, and then put them back on the left hand, and then drop them on to the table. This is a really suspicious move imo. But with the card box, it now makes sense, because you have to pick the box up with your right hand, therefore you have to hold the cards on your left hand temporarily.

    Instead of psychology , we can do any other force without shuffling the deck again as it was aldready shuffled....

      @AMillionCardTricks  Месяц назад +4

      True. In my opinion, psychological forces are better, so to each their own.

      @@AMillionCardTricks yes ! It does make the trick way more powerful and effective but incase the follow up doesn't go as planned , using an easier and reliable force always helps !! Btw I have been watching your videos since COVID and learning magic since then , huge fan !

      But, it's always good if spectators get to shuffle the deck. There isn't much else they can actively do, and in their minds, they are holding the cards, and they can shuffle them in whatever way they want. It's *impossible* for you to do anything sneaky.
      Also, there is the obvious thing with this force vs. other forces: the spectator might not be familiar with the moves and just say "oh, a riffle force". But, at some level, they do understand/assume that it's more difficult to do anything if the cards are not in your hands -- so, if you can get the timing force to work, that's just a massive bonus. Magicians love to keep the deck in their hands, in a tight pack,. and not let you see much of it or what they are doing, while you just spread the deck on the table, face up even, ...

    Hi Nathan
    Great card trick
    Would u consider this as a beginner trick?
    Also are there any other ways u could force those cards????

    • @AMillionCardTricks
      @AMillionCardTricks  Месяц назад +3

      Yes of course! You can feel free to use any other force that you want. If you can control the card to the top, you can do a simple riffle force. That’s just one example! :)

    Looking at it as a magician/spectator the utility @ 0:29 kinda threw me off which is the reason of where anything sus starts to take place. Good trick just the flow of that one part kinda made me think "somethings up" and magicians seem to add utility moves to say "Hey im doing a move look here"

    • @AMillionCardTricks
      @AMillionCardTricks  Месяц назад

      Haha I would say anything that requires a bit of misdirection doesn’t look amazing on camera. In a real life scenario, with a spectator helping, it would fly by no problem.

    • @DETERMINOLOGY
      @DETERMINOLOGY Месяц назад

      @@AMillionCardTricks that’s true but as well you do have people with great eyes it just looks a bit strange there with miss direction it would fly by for sure but as for me I always prefer routines and utility moves that flow within patter that’s natural.
