Great video! The restaurant you visit serve caribbean food, this food is from the province of Limón. This type of food is influenced from Jamaica. The dish you ate is called rice and beans with chicken, this is different from the “casado” and the “gallo pintó”, because the rice and beans are made with coconut milk. I love caribbean food and I visit very frequently that restaurant showed in this video, is really delicious. You should try also the rondón from this restaurant, is just amazing. Pura vida!
Funny you mentioned it, because that's a small habit that has changed. It used to be commonplace not long ago in bars and restaurants that you got a glass with ice for your beer or that you actually had to ask to have your beer without ice. Nowadays I don't even get offered "vaso con hielo" anywhere, and the people I know that like having beer with ice tend to be much older.
Thx for coming, you're very welcome anywhere you go, you'll see for sure, for party I recommend you the Cali for sure but go carefully in the street and for tourism Tamarindo and the Puerto viejo are very good options
Hi, welcome! That Rice & Beans is not a Casado. You went to a typical Limón's restaurant (the Caribbean province), and the food is related to Caribbean food, very similar to what you get at Jamaica for example. It's one of my favorite costarican food. You'll see that Gallo Pinto, though being mixed rice and beans, is very different.
Bro for CostaRican authentic food you must get by Mercado Central im SJ downtown trying soups, casado etc the Rice&Bean you tasted is low version lol If you go to Caribbean side (Limon,Puerto Viejo,Cahuita&Manzanillo). You wont regret, best CR place regarding culture, beach, meals, people
In Costa Rica more than 100 years ago a lot of jamaicans came to help building the railroad and they stayed. Brought their culture, food, music, religión etc... 😊 So there are a lot of Costaricans especially on the Caribbean side from Jamaican descent

The ice on the beer is unusual here un Costa Rica as well, that was maybe for being a tourist oriented restaurant
