Ski pole mount looks pretty sick. Personally, I like to pole plant so I find it kind of weird holding a pole idle. I think I'll likely just stick to the selfie stick, head mount and chest mount!
My favourite mount is one i made . It is a Boot mount. It basically slides down in-between the tongue and the buckles. It makes it look like you are going super fast. Not so good in Powder though, but i Ski in Australia so i don't need to worry about that often.😂,,,😢
I find the angle forward gets a cleaner POV without my helmet. Another alternative is to put the helmet mount closer to the forehead, however I hate the feeling of the weight on my goggles so I mount it in the centre and angle the camera forward to compensate. The weight distribution feels good and I like the shot that it gets.
I’ve bought an Insta 360 and have a few of those mounts. Editing. 1. Do you just let the App do its thing? 2. App or desktop editing? 3. Do you manually adjust the white balance depending on the day’s conditions? Apologies for so many questions.
1. For instagram/socials I always use the app, if I am doing selfie stick or a 3rd person follow cam I use the deep track AI. For everything else I manually reframe everything. 2. I used the app for RUclips and socials for the last 2 years. This year I started using the Desktop for my RUclips videos because the export resolution is the highest. 3. Editing takes me so much time that I don't usually do any color grading. Hope that was helpful!

Mouth mount does hurt the jaw. It's good for quick little lines, but a pretty similar shot to the chest cam. I use insta360 app or desktop software to do all the reframing. I then export it and just edit in Imovie.
Yup! These are the ⛷️ Deorum Apollo Freeride Ski Poles They've got a screw in mount on the top which is awesome for sticking a camera on. The pole is too wide for it to work well as an invisible selfie stick, but i like having it for doing vlog and landscape shots while ski touring, or follow cams on the pole basket. Which one? I only have a hero 11, and I don't really use it for anything other than a vlogging camera. I might not be the best person to do a review on it. Insta360 is always my daily driver on the mountain.
@@riseandalpine Why not? I ride DH mtb in the summer and it usually takes the first few days of the snow season for me to get used to not having the part of the helmet covering my face haha

Any recommendation for FOV and Distortion control setting?
The best way to deal with distortion is to reframe and adjust stitching in the insta360 desktop software.
Why do you always have it off kilter a bit vs facing perfectly forward?

That was the unicorn mount. You could also hold the selfie stick near your face and pull off a similar shot

I wish more than one company makes full face ski helmets so that we can have chin mounts. Way more comfortable than clenching your jaw the whole run.
The full face mount makes for a sick POV. Not sure I'd want to ski with a full face helmet though.

How long does a battery last?
The battery is the absolute best. i use 1 insta360 battery in the same time I use 4 of gopro enduro batteries. Go pro batteries are brutal.
Basically the entire day on my helmet. Maybe about 1 1/2 hours of filming

The insta really blows the GoPro out of the water from a versatility perspective. The battery is also 10x better.
