I think what makes Sekiro a true masterpiece is the fact that the game is a blank canvas you can paint on. The game is art which makes it very re-playable in the search of perfection, and offers so much mods because its the perfect game to mod on.
I kinda had the opposite experience. I feel like the ways to victory in this game are extremely rigid, and the vast majority of fights are only really accomplished in one way, with the only variation really being how well you execute the strategy.
@@Mississippi_Jack you just have to play more. Master the fundementals by playing the way the game forces you to, then start adding your own style. I have weapon weel mod as well so I can use many combat arts in a fight.

well, perfection as in actual perfection is obviously impossible. Honestly, despite having one of the lower playtimes of all games I've played, its prolly my 2nd favourite or favourite of all time. Literally every single aspect of Sekiro is 10/10. I can't believe how well From executed everything, considering this was supposed to be a small side project.

For me the perfect FromSoftware game would be to either combine Bloodborne and Sekiro with weapon-tools that function for combat, exploration and puzzle solving. So you get the trick and prosthetic features. Ideally something like 5-7 tools that each have their own features and purposes, and maybe include the ability to alter these tools to allow you to leverage different playstyles with the same set up as everyone else. Either that or a straight up Avatar rip off: heavy martial arts, chi blocking, elemental bending that actually changes the environment, and the ability to be just as effective with or without bending.

Also, it's pretty cringe to call the fights a dance or a work of art. This is the farting ape game, after all. But yeah, it's a great game, and it won GotY for a reason. Why people care so much about something being perfect? You can find me a perfect game but it still won't measure up to the these fromsoftware games there's something about them that you can't replicate even in a perfect game if that even exists.
Sekiro is fantastic but it's the most flawed Fromsoft game (flawed by design not by technical limitations): 1. It definitely has the best Boss Combat gameplay in the series... but the open/outer world gameplay falls apart because it's the mashing together of 2 opposing Combat designs. This makes half the Combat System GOD tier, and the other half half-baked at best 2. Sekiro having a proper protagonist that follows a direct story/plotline doesn't mesh well with Fromsofts esoteric storytelling that they always use for DS, BB & ER. It makes the story extremely choppy at points and messing with its pacing 3. Least interesting world & world design. This is extremely opinion based but I don't know who can make an argument for Sekiro's world design and art style being close to the rest of FS catalog Still an epic game but there are definitely some serious problems
It has incredible combat and bosses/characters but probably the most confusing and forgettable world design. No idea how often I had to google what to do because its so unclear where to progress or trigger certain events or boss fights. I probably missed so much content because this game is so vague and explains literally nothing. Fromsoft Games always have missable content but definetly not to the extent as in Sekiro
It's near perfect, the repeated bosses and insane hitboxes of some bosses are just annoying, like guardian ape, all i see is a white huge insanely fast beast throwing his legs and hands all other the place
Disclaimer: I haven't watched the video yet. But my take on Sekiro has always been that it was the best first playthrough of any fromsoft game, yes including Elden Ring, but it's re-playability is horrendous compared to every other game due to the lack of build variety.
I agree that the lack of weapon variety hinders replayability. It seems like there isn't really any way to customize or make the game your own. Every single fight kind of plays out the same way for every player due to the lack of customization and difficulty.
No, it’s not even a great action game. It’s good. But dwarfed by titans of the genre like the best Devil May cry or ninja Gaiden games. Btw I’m sure this is a great video and yes I’m just responding to the title. Will watch soon 😊
The best past of Sekiro is it been under 15gb…. I’ll never uninstall

Yes, those are my only two criteria on judging a game or piece of media
What reference?
@@Jedimo the description of fulminated mercury says "this tiny tweak of chemistry" which is the line said by heisenberg when he blows up Tuco's office with fulminated mercury (if you havent watched the show, don't worry, is not that big of a spoiler)

Why people care so much about something being perfect? You can find me a perfect game but it still won't measure up to the these fromsoftware games there's something about them that you can't replicate even in a perfect game if that even exists.
Sekiro is fantastic but it's the most flawed Fromsoft game (flawed by design not by technical limitations):
1. It definitely has the best Boss Combat gameplay in the series... but the open/outer world gameplay falls apart because it's the mashing together of 2 opposing Combat designs. This makes half the Combat System GOD tier, and the other half half-baked at best
2. Sekiro having a proper protagonist that follows a direct story/plotline doesn't mesh well with Fromsofts esoteric storytelling that they always use for DS, BB & ER. It makes the story extremely choppy at points and messing with its pacing
3. Least interesting world & world design. This is extremely opinion based but I don't know who can make an argument for Sekiro's world design and art style being close to the rest of FS catalog
Still an epic game but there are definitely some serious problems
It has incredible combat and bosses/characters but probably the most confusing and forgettable world design. No idea how often I had to google what to do because its so unclear where to progress or trigger certain events or boss fights. I probably missed so much content because this game is so vague and explains literally nothing. Fromsoft Games always have missable content but definetly not to the extent as in Sekiro
Agree with some point but most flawed?
I feel like that title still goes to ds2
Hell i think elden ring is more flawed than sekiro in many ways
Guardian Ape is the biggest piece of bs in the gaming industry. but other than that, then yes, the game is perfect
It's near perfect, the repeated bosses and insane hitboxes of some bosses are just annoying, like guardian ape, all i see is a white huge insanely fast beast throwing his legs and hands all other the place
No. It isn't. Any game where miyazaki is control is bound to be jank
Not perfect because it doesn't have DLC 😢
Not perfect but close.
Probably the least flawed from game but still flawed
Disclaimer: I haven't watched the video yet.
But my take on Sekiro has always been that it was the best first playthrough of any fromsoft game, yes including Elden Ring, but it's re-playability is horrendous compared to every other game due to the lack of build variety.

It's a masterpiece but not perfect. Lack of replayability in the form of only one main weapon hinders it.
Disagree because the gameplay is so good you would want to replay it
@@jetgaming5269 The implementation of the boss rush mode is good enough for me tbh.
So replayable.
I could definitely see people getting the parrying down and wanting to kill bosses faster or speed run the game
I agree that the lack of weapon variety hinders replayability. It seems like there isn't really any way to customize or make the game your own. Every single fight kind of plays out the same way for every player due to the lack of customization and difficulty.
It is not
it isn't.

No, it’s not even a great action game. It’s good. But dwarfed by titans of the genre like the best Devil May cry or ninja Gaiden games.
Btw I’m sure this is a great video and yes I’m just responding to the title. Will watch soon 😊
It's not my favorite From Software game but it is closest to perfection.
