It's cause she is old and went through a hell of a lot more than I'll ever know. Hope is a kid who is rebellious against all authority and has low empathy though. It's part of her condition. Kids like that work on gaining positive praise and reward for good behaviour. And very little attention for negative behaviour. They see every battle as something they need to control. Most kids avoid confrontation. And Want to please adults as much as they can. Hope is showing signs of ODD. Which later can turn into a personality disorder called Anti social personality disorder in adulthood. I
