    Loving Djokovic's dominance so far, can't help but notice though he is carrying a lot of negative emotions from his experience last year in Australia. Not a happy camper in this year's AO, and rightfully so. So far he seems to be using that energy to his advantage, can imagine though on a tight 4/5 setter, it could start to be a hindrance against Tsitsipas. Thoughts?

      He has a massive mental edge over Tsiisipas from the French open final victory. He has won the last 4 in a row after coming back from 2 sets down in Roland Garros. He has won the last 9 in a row overall and Tsitsipas has never beaten him in a 5 set match.
      Kyrgios went into Wimbledon final with a big mental edge and got the first set from it before losing the next 3. I don't think going into the final with a massive mental deficit versus Djokovic is a good thing but I guess you never know.

And I agree that Djokovic will try to rush Tsitsipas, taking time off him… and also I think the deadness of the ball will affect Tsitsipas more than Djokovic esp on the backhand side… tsitsipas hits with more spin but Djokovic can keep it flat.

    Hard courts have predictable bounce and speed and the initial strength of the youngsters will soon be nullified. On clay or grass, the bounce and speed vary in different parts of the court and day and that's not a factor here. 10-2 & 9 straight. Paris & RG. Some games and sets in this AO F'23 may be tight and long. Stef is playing maybe best ever-but nobody puts pressure on you like Nole. Novak in 3 or maybe 4 if Stef takes a set. If Nole is serving & hits clean, powerful & heavy-it will be all on Stef's serving games-which he will have to keep up at his top tier. If Stef is serving lights out and Novak does not match that level on his own serve, Stef will take some games & maybe a set. AND-Novak's poor 1st set agains TP will have him coming out of the gate VERY STRONG against Stef. Stef needs to Serve & Volley super well. Long rallies favor Stef-agreed & can aggravate Novak's hammy & fitness. Novak wins if he serves well & goes heavy against the Stef forehand. Drop shots favor Novak. Thanx Stephen. Best Milan. Tsitsipas wil lose in straight sets

  • @Awereq
    @Awereq Год назад +1

    I have to disagree and here is why:
    First of all, Djokovic didn't play anyone who has a good serve. Tsitsipas is serving great and it will be the first match this tournament where Novak doesn't have that much freedom both on serve and on the return - He will know that one break can be converted which was not the case at all - it was just too easy to break any opponent when there was a need for it. Second thing - actual weapon. To this day, the only player that had a shot which might hurt Djokovic alone was Rublev. The problem is, he barely played any points on his terms because of overall pretty bad performance and poor serving. Tsitsipas has one of, if not the best serve +1 combo on tour and he is crushing forehands with an impressive confidence this tournament. He knows that he is too much in form to miss many of them and he will have very good chances to save himself from a very difficult situations with his forehand only. Next thing - net play. So far the only players who had decent volleys were Paul and Dimitrov - Paul was just unable to come close very often but during first two sets he had a good percentage against Djokovic - this shows that with even minor problem with Novak's leg, good net play might be the way to go. Dimitrov was just too inconsistant in general to even try to hurt him at the net too often. I also think that mental strength is on similar level. Yes, Stefanos had problems with closing out his matches but his ability to kill oponent's momentum was very impressive. This will allow him to stay pretty close even after being a set or a break down. Yes, Djokovic was godlike in at least 2 matches this tournament. But he had great opponents to be godlike against. Tsitsipas to me might play better in many moments just because the level difference between him and any Djokovic's opponent so far. Djoker is one of the goats but I unironically have to go with Stefanos on that one. Let's see what happens

    My friend. You know little about tennis. The game plan was to get into long rallies with Novak so that his leg would hurt him bad and potentially Novak would retire. But he forgot to come up with a plan what he would to the press if it did not work. so, he made it up at the press conference i.e. attacking 2nd serve etc. etc. please please learn to use your braincells because it really hurts mine when i listen to shallow analysis. Thank you.

But the chap is 35 now, folks tend to lose some speed by the mid 30's. He also seems marginally less able to tolerate longer rallies than 5-10 yrs ago. To be the Goat, it's what you achieved in your sport, I mean look at Michael Jordan, it's what he achieved. To be a good ambassador for the sport it's what you do for the sport, I mean he was on the Atp council trying to support the lower ranks players, also he was trying to get some rules changed for the safety of the players. Outside tennis , he helped build many pre schools for under privileged kids in Serbia. Also his wife is working on the panel with UNICEF on some issues regarding amnesty , correct me if I'm wrong.

      The records speak for themsleves! That is the litmus test to tell you who the GOAT is. Lets not desperately try to bring other things just to put this man down. To what extent does being ambassador of sport disqualifies him? By having so much success on the court, means he is an ambassador of the sport. Must he go around kissing babies like American Politicians?? 😂😂
