When she baked it, she packed the scrolls tightly into the baking tin - usually 7 or 8 of them - then as they baked, the centres of the scrolls would rise up like mountains and the brown sugar formed a crunchy swirl on top. She served them warm, cut horizontally in half and buttered, served with hot tea. Yum!
