My son said, "Whoooa cool roller skates. And cool moves! Wait, he's just a KID?!" Needless to say, he was very impressed. He's 9 and just got a skateboard, and I think this has motivated him to give it another try, despite the difficulty of his first attempt. Very awesome to see such hard work and talent!

Haha Jayden is so cute! Makes me wish I had stuck with skating when I was his age. Instead I've gotta struggle through it as an adult who's a lot farther off the ground and a lot heavier. 😅
I LOVED this, Dirty Deb! So inspiring to watch this. I have been waiting forever to see your Salchow and I love that you also do it from a forward outside 3-turn entrance! It’s so hard to do it from a Mohawk or straight backwards glide entrance- the momentum from the 3-turn entrance and the swing through helps so much! I also have to go off the toe-stop at the very end for stability. I’m so used to engaging the toe-pick at the end of the take-off edge from my ice-skating salchow. You make it all look so smooth and graceful on those curves! Way to go!
As a teacher I adore kids like this! This was so much fun to watch. I am so excited for when I have kids and teach them how to skate. (I've been skating for two weeks and I went backwards on purpose for the first time today!)
The kid pushed you to the limit and Deb, you responded like a Champ!
A joy to watch, made me smile so much! Jayden was going for the hardest things, so awesome, loved the competition but all in fun.

What a fun video and great kid and you were awesome with him! I see this video was made three years ago, hope Jayden is still skating. I have been going through all of your videos and even though my new skates don’t arrive until Monday, (Sure Grip Boardwalks coming from Pigeon), I have all of my safety gear and am so excited to get back on skates after more than 25 years! I thought my rollerskating days were behind me, but I still have good knees, hips, balance and lots of muscle memory from years of being a dancer and skater. I have nothing to prove, I just want to feel the joy of rollerskating again. Thank you for the inspiration and encouragement! If it goes well, I would love to go to RollerCon in July. ❤❤❤

A couple of questions: 1) Can you do a salchow from a mowhawk with rollers? 2) In Figure skating the jump you call the mapes(?) is a toe loop I think....could you clarify for this ice gal so she can research/learn and go off ice with it this summer?

Hey Deb!! I've been trying to do the "leg lift spin"- all year!! Absolutely without the reach behind. Haha can you break that one down ?- because everytime I try, I fall and would love to use this move in the normal skating direction... please!?!?

Its clear to see all ages of young ones and grown ups njoy yr lessons of glide and smoothness on 8 wheels! You said it in one of your lessons regular practice is better than now and again , bravo 👏 👍 Debbie so true I didn't rollerstake for a few weeks and paid for it flat out, looking at the summer skys ! But I was up in a 📸 flash ! Like nothing happened!🤣🤣🤣every morning now it will be half an hour trip !😲👍around the block ! By the end of the year yeah!! I received my rollers last week (Rookie Quad Magic Checker) and when I roll, the shoes make a weird noise. It squeaks. Is this normal?

Jayden is very talented and I was really impressed with his skills. But I got turned off when I saw him being a little rude & disrespectful to Debby. Yes adults can filter kids comments but imagine another kid hearing "You can't do it!" while trying to learn a new skill, that would really hurt their self-esteem. I work with kids and I know 5yrs olds who are humble and have good manners.
when he said “you can’t do it” when debby tried to do a jump, it was in fact not new to her. she has had many experiences with these jumps
