*Alright… let’s do this together!! What is your BEST decluttering tip that has helped you over the years… also, any good decluttering books/podcasts that you’ve found?! I’m so happy you’re here with me today!!! ♥Amanda*
Just finished my WHOLE house declutter.... every single room, every box, bag, cupboard, closet, shelf, etc has been gone thru and I was BRUTAL! It was a chore but feels SO GOOD to have it done! I filled my car 13 times FULL of donations and took them to my local Thrift store that benefits adults with special needs....my favorite place to donate to❤ LOVE your motivation Amanda in ALL things...not just decluttering!❤
So cute! Every time my daughter hears the opening music of your videos, (sometimes your welcome intro too) she comes RUNNING out to the living room and tries to sing along and then she’s like, “there’s a new crazy life!!!” And she sits down and snuggles up to watch with me. 3 years later and this is still very much our thing.💕 We know that every Monday (and now Thursdays too!!) we have a new upload to watch and we love it. We watch your videos all the time (I listen to the vlog when I’m at work, or a clean with me marathon) and then on Tuesdays, we also enjoy watching another RUclips channel who does similar things like home making that you do. You will always be our favorite RUclips channel and if you ever do decide to do a meet and greet, I will GLADLY travel from Montana to Arizona just so I could meet you. Lots of love to you and your family
Hey Amanda!!! I literally just finished the very lasy step in my cleaning journey. I just literally emptied out my basement and cleaned every square inch down there, even edge vacuumed. Then i went to the master bedroom and moved bed and night stands and did all the windows and blinds, trim and edge vacuum. Then i moved to living room, decluttered, and cleaned everything in the entertainment center. Then bathroom decluttered, vacuumed out cabinets and then garage today. Its been a whole week of extra cleaning and i just finished mopping. I do still need to do inside kitchen cabinets and tops of cabinets but the rest of the house is done. You helped inspire me
This is probably controversial, but I cut the recipes I like out of cookbooks and get rid of the rest. I have a binder I keep the recipes in. That way, I'm not keeping a whole book for one or two recipes.
For clothing I try to use the “one in - one out rule.” I have kept a few formal clothes but I keep them in bins and take them out and steam them for special occasions.
Thank you! Amanda, I was dreading doing the declutter to the point of anxiety. Your video inspired me. I am doing it now. Love your videos and you encouraging words. Have blessed day!
The hardest step is to get going, it gets easier as you go!!! Once you see and feel how nice it looks, it gives even more motivation!!! I just got done decluttering my basement, bathrooms and living room. Feels so good!!
@@juliefettig9359 Thank you so much. I was able to do my whole garage 😅I am starting inside the house this week. I appreciate your words of encouragement. Have a great weekend!
I decluttered a TON during the pandemic and I still find stuff to part with. Just this past week i went through all the closets and donated multiple bags of stuff. It does serve to make me more conscious of what I bring into the house.
I use elastic bands around computer/tech cords because they can be reused, or a twist tie I have gotten from the grocery store. The tape might get pulled off, and possibly a new piece would not find its way back around the used cord. But maybe this is a temp solution until your order comes in to deal with them? Also, I don't think I have thrown out more than one or two cookbooks in 40 years. They sit out, on bookshelves, so I can see them and read them, like any good book!
I am a minimalist, but my husband is not. He has learned to live with my occasional declutter (my stuff only), but I itch like crazy every time I see his stuff. He has an office upstairs that I seldom go in (only to dust) and he has the majority of his "things" in there. Kind of a out of sight out of mind situation. I do have a box in my closet that I will use for things to declutter and I have seen every once in a while he'll have thrown something in there!! 🤣 Gotta count the little victories. 🥰
Good reminder that decluttering the 2nd, 3rd etc times takes much less time. I love my 'after" from under the sink declutter and have kept it organized for about a year.
Hello! I really enjoyed this first video of this series, thank you for sharing! I have two tips that I find really helpful in my household. First is the “one in one out” rule, I find it really helpful in managing the clutter if I stick to it. Second is I will always check out cookbooks from the library first before I buy, that way I can have some time with them before deciding if it’s something I want to keep and take up space. Hope this might be helpful to anyone who needs it!
My grandchildren love helping me around the house they always say is there anything you need doing nanny... Love them. A good declutter always helps the mind x
Amanda, you did such a great job decluttering! Your home is so beautiful, and your videos are so enjoyable and motivating! Thank you for being so awesome, sweet lady! 😊 🍂🍁❤
Great idea on cluttering and wow did you declutter! I think it’s a great idea to get the boys into the yard sale. Looking forward to seeing you declutter even more. I am trying but just older and have lots of health issues. So, I move slow. Thanks for the inspiration! 😊❤😊
Hello lovely. You are absolutely right! It feels so good after decluttering. We eliminate the energy that no longer serve us. Have an amazing day and a huge hug from far away! 😘
The space is the attic in the garage, where all things go never to be seen. Honestly, I have been trying to get the motivation for seriously the last 2 years. It's my kryptonite. The tips are helpful, and I am going to implement them in my decluttering. Love this content. Thank you for sharing.
I just moved 3 weeks ago. My new home is smaller than my previous home, so I am busy with decluttering. It is such a nice feeling when you have more space and everything is neat and tidy. Irma from the Netherlands
Decluttering has become such a joy in my life. Every single day I make it a point to do "something" whether it is a drawer, one shelf in a cabinet, top of a dresser etc. I just use the buy nothing facebook group in my area to release anything I may gather in a day. Best thing I have ever done for myself
I find it amazing how much energy you have. When I was around your age I did too but never realized it. As mom's we do so much and never realize just how much we do. Now at 63 yrs old and a grandma I move a lot slower but I'm still enjoying life.
Im a few days late watching. But your so right declutering takes time and is a thing we need to do at let once a month. It was so good seeing you again, ive missed watching. Mental healing and grife such a prosses. God bless you and your family🤗💜
Love the video and waiting for more. My goal is to wean out my stuff before Christmas. Gotta make space for new things but want to lighten up in general.
I’m going to decluttering my Christmas 🎄 closet and get rid of things I’m no longer using for the holidays decorations too old stuff and things and the next decluttering will build two kitchen cabinets where there’s so many pots and pans that’s not being used it all Hass to go bye love to see this job work! Thanks you, Amanda.great book to share I’m on it before I set up for Christmas.
TAPE!! Now why didn't I think of that. This is one of the many reasons why I love watching your volgs. I get so much motivation and wonderful simple, cost effective tips.
Amanda, this just hit so close to home. I'm not someone who will declutter a ton bc I've tried my best to make smarter purchases of things I need vs what I want or bc its on sale. However I recently decluttered a huge storage bin that holds all of my gifting supplies for all occasions with bags, ribbons, tissue paper, gift toppers, stickers you name it. The amount was overwhelming that when I needed something I had too many to search through that I found the abundance senseless. In talking with my Sister she said to go through it and separate Christmas for starters and declutter from there. I felt so much lighter and found peace in tackling that one bin. Now. I have my Christmas items in one place knowing what I have and don't need to stock up for the holidays tempting as it might be for me 😅 The one tip I can give you is to avoid overdoing the declutter. Be realistic in what and why you want to get rid of or keep. You might find yourself getting rid of things for that cleansing satisfaction vs your intent. Another would be limit the amount of organizational bins or open containers you think you need. The bins itself can create more clutter, take up more room and not work for the space. Love the idea of this series and tacklng it by a space, a room at a time, and not trying to do it all. It felt very peaceful to see you declutter adding the clips talking through what you're doing. You inspired me to go through a few closets and work my way throughout my house 🫶🏽👍🏽😊
Love this video! My tips for decluttering are the following: 1. Would I buy this item again? 2. I don’t hold the item for too long in my hands otherwise I’ll be swayed to keep it. 3. I tell myself that someone else is going to love the item and make use of it.
Just an idea for wrapping cords up that I used recently: Use a pipe cleaner as a twist tie of sorts. Probably in craft stuff and is reusable. 😍. I remember Dana’s channel on RUclips from when she first began. She’s definitely an organizing original on YT. Great job on decluttering! Can’t wait for the other episodes here!

I keep saying I'm gonna have a yard sale, but I have been so ill the last 3 yrs. Im just letting go. Plus, with the passing of my dad and now mom, I'm trying to only hold onto the items with special memories. It is a very hard time. Im trying to give things to the people who really have a need in their life I remember a time when I was 18 and had to move out and someone gave me the most beautiful trash can and curtains and I was so excited. I know that sounds so silly now, but at the time, there were not so many dollar stores and discount places. I pretty much got everything I had from friends and yard sales. Take care. Blessings to your family 😊❤
Hello Amanda, great video, I am decluttering my home now. A cheap solution for cords is bread ties or a piece of Velcro , I use them all the time. So far I have donated six boxes of things and four bags of clothes. It’s such a great feeling. I hope you all have a blessed week. 🥰♥️🍁🌹

What a great concept to declutter like that and to address the open spaces first. I'm sure it felt really good. I've been really needing to go through my two storage units in this same way. Items to donate or sell and get some organization in there too. Great motivation! Thanks girl! 😍
Hi Amanda! Whoohoo! I agree with decluttering a space more than once in a short period of time because I find that sometimes my mood for the day will affect what I am willing to let go of and it might help me declutter more items the second time around. I’m always trying to figure out ways to better use spaces too. Can’t wait to see how the rest of your decluttering goes!

I’m always trying to figure out ways to better use spaces too. Can’t wait to see how the rest of your decluttering goes!
Absolutely agree!! It’s so true!
Iv got that look in my audible library that I haven't started yet. Excited to have a look. For those who have alot to declutter or even need ro establish routines I can't recommend sink reflections from FLY lady, enough!! Absolutely the best x
methods of Dana K.White work for me, glad that these work for you too, to keep motivated I listen to her live sessions on youtube while I'm decluttering
