I've been listening to segments of this sermon off and on for a while now. I do appreciate that he highlighted the Scriptures pertaining to being single. I'm often a little hesitant to listen to sermons or anything related about being single because I feel that many pastors (as well as many others in the church) cannot fully identify with and empathize with people who have been single for a large portion of their adult lives. Many of them are not only married, but they got married very early in their adult lives. Now, I do realize that they were still single for a season, and that season may have been challenging, but unless you have spent nearly two and a half DECADES battling the challenges that come with being single, you can't fully identify with people like me.

I wouldn't mind having that gift.

Amen what a powerful sermon. Thank you pastor cody Adams for such a powerful massage. I've been single for six years now so I was already feeling like my singleness is a curse. Thank you for answering all the questions that I had and for making me understand that singleness is a gift just like marriage nor a curse Amen.

One question, Pastor Cody. If singleness is so awesome, then why did YOU get married? The sad truth is that older Christian singles have NO friends, because the CMP’s (aka Clueless Married People) in the church are so preoccupied with their spouses, kids, etc., that they (the CMP’s) have NO TIME for the singles, other than a quick passing “Hello” before or after church.
Try being a 62 year old man, serving The Lord loyally since your mid-20’s, & praying for a Godly wife for close to FOUR DECADES, all to NO AVAIL. Life has passed me by. I wouldn’t wish singleness on anyone!!

How many single men are on your board of elders?
