2023 offered an all new Yamaha YZ450F. We actually got to try it out for ourselves at the Star Racing compound in Cairo,Georgia in winter. Eli was able to ride the bike and get a sneak peak at it much earlier then that. Once Eli saw its potential he inked an extension with Star Racing Yamaha for Supercross on a 1 year deal. Eli showed any and all doubters that this bike was extremely competitive by winning the opening round of Supercross in Anaheim. We met up with mechanic Josh Ellingson in Denver to go over Eli’s new bike and some of the factory components that they use. This was also MXA's 2023 BIKE OF THE YEAR!

I just sold my 2019 Yamaha YZ450 F, I live in Washougal and have the joy of riding at the track and I can tell ya the Yamaha rides like such a smaller lighter bike!!! AMAZING BIKE!! I can only imagine how bad ass this bike is
I’ve been waiting for this one!
I like the doubled up rad hoses.
We run renthal grips with a pro taper cover on it to keep sponsors happy
Marvellous setup 💙🖤💙💫
grips are definitely renthal 🤣
You see the brand when they talk about the seat
🪄 all of the good stuff, them podium Kings need... Big ups to LightSpeed, their fork guards are true armor! Waay better than stock🏁
bike is insane Eli is by far the best It would be fun to try his compared to my 250
All that great motor work and no case saver 😮
Sick!!!!!
Nice Renthal grips
Hahah I caught that too!! 😂 I guess what ET wants… he gets!!
I don't think pro taper has a full waffle. He's been running those full waffle renthals for a long time I believe.
Pro Taper 4 life 🤘🤠🇺🇸🔥
La más linda para el mejor Eli Tomac
I need that bike 😮🤠🤘
Sweet bike, Too bad E3 ain't using it right now.
Cool, imma go cry now, thx. I srsly feel like im more upset about Eli’s injury than Eli is. He was simply amazing. I was so pumped to see one more ship in SX. Last seasons outdoors vs chase was literally the best season battle ever. He had an amazing career regardless but man. Tough. Beautiful bike tho.
Man, if there's a way to get him back, it's going to be embryonic or fetal stem cells. Seriously. Go watch the documentary on it. If there's one thing they need to trry before giving up, it's that.
@@Corteum yea, the issue is time. Even if you can heal the injury up to 100% in say a few months, which would be fast. Then you still just have all the training and real racing he needs to do to be back on top. The Eli we saw in the last SX and outdoors was top form, best possible shape he can be in, with the best confidence possible after racing and wining consistently for years. He was gonna do one more outdoors cuz he loves outdoors and was ready to go. To now say okay well maybe in 2024 you will be ready but you will need to build back up for a season or so. That just doesnt add up to his timeline for the end of his career. The man is ready to retire and move on. Not work his ass off for one more season in 1 or 2 yrs from now. Not to mention the heart break of this injury to deal with. Knowing you had one more SX title wrapped up if you just stay healthy, then having this happen is devastating.
@@kennybobby201 With fetal and embryonic stem cells, results are a matter of weeks, not months. Highly encourage you to watch the documentary by Eric Merola. Eye opening for sure. If feel like if he does that, he'll come back bettere than he was before. It's that powerful 👍
@@Corteum yea maybe, i hear ya, its already prob been a month since his surgery tho. I just think all this extra effort shit is just gonna be hard to justify for a guy that was already ready to retire. He has 2 toddlers now i think. I hope i am wrong, i hope we see him race again, i just wouldnt bet on it. It is a very very unfortunate ending to an otherwise amazing career.
@@kennybobby201 Youre right about the retirement thing. but none of us wants to see him go out like this. it's not right. and i feel like he's got more to offer before retirement day comes. I'm glad to hear the surgery went well for him at Steadman clinic. Though i do sincerely hope he can get some stem cells, too, to accelerate the healing process and get him back sooner so we dont have to wait as long lol. Fingers crossed that he will make a complete recovery 👍
Let's go danger
Eli is the GOAT of Motocross. I doubt we will see him race outdoors again. He went out on Top!
long way to go to be a Goat....
GOOD TIMING, HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE OUT THERE WITH JET LIKELEY WINNING ALL THE TIME
@@antfal-n-everything7154that's funny as hell you know a healthy tomac will gap him
Carmichael is the GOAT of motocross bud, Eli still needs a LOT more to do to get GOAT status young man
I stand corrected but I'm no young man, old enough to be your dad.
How much does it weigh?? And what's the power output?
The Achilles Heal of the 450 class.
So funny I forgot to laugh.
Heel, you spelled it wrong.
Explain ?
How much lighter is carbon over plastic
Cooper Webbs 2024 bike
Hi there are you guys coming in tomorrow or are we doing something to eat or do we have
Nice
Dont forget to add an extra inch of sag over normal. Ya know, just to keep the rider's heels off the ground in g-outs.
So sad he gave away the championship this year.. was one hell of a year
What could have been
Tires??
What’s the price tag on this beast
Roughy 110k most of that is the transmission and works suspension works shit is expensive lol
@@zachjohnson6873 holy shit
6 figures for sure
Hey
So sad to see him go out with a freak injury like that.
It's fixable... but they need to use the right technology. (fetal stem cells).
New team😂 Factory Start Racing Yamaha
Please give us hp numbers like these things have to be making north of 60hp these days right? And they still won’t let 250 2 strokes race with them😂😂😂
2 stroke can race with them some riders have.they are just not competitive
Closer to 70
In most cases it is allowed. The 450s have huge advantages over a 2 stroke so most serious pros don’t race them
@@toddsimone7182 most guys are running detuned bikes.they have a start map that gives them huge power down the start then it switches to a mellow power curve.
At least spell the team name correctly.
Star missed something...where is the spare Achilles? 😮😂
Next year they will stash 2 spare Achilles under the seat. 1 for each foot.
Needed the carbon fiber reinforced achilles tendon installed
🤡🤡🤡🤡
While this bike have 2 eletric start suzuki is still kiking 😂
The bike that killed a career
Bike had nothing to do with his injury.
@@denniswilder3014 that's not what James Stewart said
@@dadlife8289 and that's not what Eli said.
I’m assume many of these works parts, unavailable to the public, are the same Deegan was cheating with in the outdoor amateur class.
Bitter since you can't ride at that level,it will be ok.
Was
Donkeysmell 😮
Start racing! He just blew his poor leg up. Alpinestars stop racing Yamaha.
GOOD JOB! REVIEW A BIKE THAT ISN'T COMPETING!.....
