If anyone is wondering what the charity-signing-thing was: Electric callboy signed a teddy for an auction, to collect money for sick children. It's connected to a metal festival in Lucerne this march (WeRockForKids, Bullhead Festival) at the Schüür with local metal bands and two international bands that all play to collect money for the Stiftung Kinderhospiz ❤
If any swiss people are interested, there are still tickets and the auction is also still online ❤

I just can't shake the association of Jan in his little guitar section as one of these favourite NPCs whose store you keep visiting just to see them and sometimes, after exhausting the current dialogue option pool or when you have a certain item on you, he'll have a fun little side quest for you like "fetch me some cups as well"
Apart from that, it's so incredibly cool to see how things work behind the scenes, it's dope to see more of the crew and their jobs, too. Really appreciate the little name + job cards, too.

Tank, for me and my cousin we're from Oxford & Frankfurt respectively. But both of us grew up in Europe. For me Oslo, Barcelona, Reykjavik, Warsaw and Athens are all part of my country & I wish Istanbul (Constantinople) as well, and this rate I suspect St Petersburg will be soon part of the EU Shengin area as well.
Random Diety was it really over 15 years since I was in Switzerland?? Really?
I remember staying in the French part of Geneva in an apartment that literally overlooked the border with the border post just outside. The border was there and yes you had to show your pisspot to go through but it was in the middle of a city?? It was so stupid.
When, its finally proven that the UK didn't vote to leave & leaving is revoked. I hope that the UK will have to join Shengen.

It is still just astounding how this all Electric Callboy experience happened for you:
Starting as a reaction channel with some good bits "behind the music" knowledge inserts.
Reacting to this silly band from Germany... being just so good, not just by reacting, but by tech knowledge to become part of their tour team in america, your home turf, and now being hired to be part of their team in europe!
And now you are kind of making a behind the scene documentary for their tour, but from the tour management point of view.
This is just great! I am so happy for you!
    Enjoy your tour break!

I won't deny it's pretty cool, but Tank's been teching for several bands before, has pretty extensive knowledge, plus he interviewed Kevin and Nico several times. So, while your comment makes it sound like he was some small fry who got picked up by EC, it's more like an experienced US roadie met an experienced German band. Said band got a lot of internet fame thx to several reaction channels, Tank's not least of all, and they clicked with him pretty well, so they decided he would be the man to properly introduce them to the US. Tank knew EC were professionals, and they knew he was, so both sides could be pretty sure this would work out well. Them becoming friends too was the cherry on top.
Tl; dr: Professionals found each other thx to the internet and became friends along the road. Pun fully intended.

@@johapunkt3053 I think your way of stating it fits perfectly, the way I thought it, but wasn't able to describe it, due to not being native english speaking, but just the bit of school english, I had. And I never was very good in english in school. Always had the worse grades, below average.
His expertise and experiences for sure made it possible at all, that's what was always so cool with his reactions: The technical informations, and backgrounds for used instruments, and so on. But, also it would not have been happened the way it did without the cannel. And that is a great thing, how the internet was able to connect the dots that were fitting.

Agreed. The logistics is amazing. I'd look at the stage and think, yep, could get that done in a couple of days, but everything needs to be built and rigged in a couple of hours. Then the tear-down, so if stuff is just put in the nearest truck, next venue it'd be "where is.. ?" and delays. Then the way everyone seems to be enjoying themselves despite the long days and hard work. But I guess the crowd reaction with a good show must be quite the buzz!

Where do i start. First this is your 4th VLOG and the video and editing quality is absolutely phenomenal, you wasted no time in upping the production value of your video. The amount of content you managed to capture really helps to show and tell the story. Second, because of how highly you talk about the band and this vlog series, this Presidents day weekend I did a deep dive down the Electric Callboy rabbit hole. Im pretty sure ive watched every video and vlog on their channel in the process and i gotta say thank you for being the conduit for turning me on to this band. Im the kinda guy that loves to study the production side of live performances and how things work, so after a weekend of watching all their live stuff it made watching this VLOG in particular that much more special. It sucks that so far their upcoming US tour is only on the East coast. When they inevitably make it to northern California i will be there. Anyway enough rambling. Thank you Tank, and wish you and your family the best!

I love each and every vlog! It would be so interesting to see if other tours have such camaraderie and positivity. We all hear all kinds of stories about bands arguing, under-appreciated crews, etc. It’s impressive that there’s no drama like that here. Every single person on this tour treats each other like family and truly enjoys their job. Everyone gets time to eat and have some breaks for fun and chilling in between working hard. Nobody is unwilling to do scut work, including band member if need be who could very easily not lift a finger, but we’ve even seen them fetching stuff, pitching in with tearing stuff down or unloading, etc. These Vlogs show a prime example of what every tour should look like - there’s really no need or reason for drama, BS, and having noses up in the air if the band, crew, managers, etc. are all there for the right reasons: to put on an amazing show for fans and make memories through music rather than just caring about collecting a paycheck.
Enjoy the time home with your wife and daughter! That clip of your daughter with a sign in the airport and the way she dropped it and ran to hug you was the sweetest!

Hell yes man! You are a genuine and awesome fella and I am as happy for you being there as I would be for myself, honestly! This is truly a great point of view at the whole touring experience, which I experienced myself at least for a bit on tour with In Flames. I love this band for a while now and to see them behind the scenes is just so cool! Especially seeing that they truly love what they do and everyone respects each other! The best thing about these videos is that it confirms what I thought of Nico especially, that he is such an awesome down to earth fella who loves his job! Or as I would describe him to people "He seems like someone you would instantly bring home as a best friend!" :D safe travels! Enjoy your time off and then come back for some more kick ass shows!

The extra camera angles for cinematic shots of the stage and the backstage stuff with the crew, an awesome touch to this. This is turning me into an Electric Callboy fan.

Thanks for showing all the BTS and the work that's done in the shadows. It gives a whole new perspective on what touring is about, and a huge appreciation for everyone that is part of it. All together, you give us the best nights of our lives, and I can't thank you all enough for it!

Swiss border crossings are not too harsh, if the paperwork looks alright and headcount matches they don't mind. I've been waved through without any checks a few times too. Now sometimes they'll pick out a random check or if someone messed up the paperwork they can get *very* thorough.

The more you keep in the videos, the better they get. These can't be too long in my opinion. As other are stating, even just the simple stuff like grabbing cups and other support is fascinating for those of us on the outside. Appreciate you sharing and going through all the work to edit. Rock on brother and enjoy the family time. Much deserved

I really had no idea how much went into shows! Every episode we’re seeing more behind the curtain. Rigging the lighting at the start. There’s a cherry picker & trucks inside the venue at the end! Who knew?! Loving this series, Tank, even though I never expected to enjoy this type of content very much.

Another amazing vlog. I dont know how the band feels about it, assume good, but this just shows the love and brotherhood of everyone there. And it makes me love the band even more. Amazing seeing you speaking more and more german and being a brother welcomed in their arms.
Is ever stuff lost/forgotten on these tours? i mean seeing the hallways filled with stuff that must happen occasionally. Btw.. much respect for everyone working there, long days, hard work and it seems very professional while still having tons of fun.

If anything gets forgotten, it's usually personal items. VERY rarely do cases get left behind, as there are Stage Managers and Production Managers watching the truck packs and making sure everything makes it into each truck.

I always find it amazing how fast these massive, complicated sound, video, and lighting systems get put together and broken down. There are so many people behind the scenes who make these shows possible, and the majority of gig-goers don't know they exist. An idea for when you return to Europe, set up a timelapse camera to capture the process of setup and breakdown from start to finish.

I don't think I've ever seen a band enjoy their songs as much as these guys do this far into the album's lifecycle. Having a "best show" at one of the last shows of an album's tour usually doesn't happen cause everyone is too burnt out on their own songs. Also for sure haven't seen a crew acively listening as much as EC's guys do. It all speaks volumes about the quality of their show.

Tank, do you have footage of Nico's and Kevin's pre-show vocal warmup, or is it possible to film it? I don't think I've seen it in EC's behind-the-scenes videos, and it could be interesting to see.

Thanks for sharing and thanks to the band and crew for allowing it. Been a few times at the station where people live stream or film and you don't wish to be in shot. But what a fun thing to see. I've also been to their last show in Zurich and their shows are always amazing. However, the shows wouldn't be possible without all of the background people and workers - so a huge thanks to you and everyone on this tour for making it as awesome as it was/is!
