- Bangladesh's fisheries sector plays a significant role in meeting the country's non-food needs, with fish being a staple in the Bengali diet. In 2020-21, Bangladesh ranked third in the world for fisheries resources, contributing 3.57% to the country's GDP by harvesting around 20 million tons of fish. The country also earned more than $533 million in export revenue from fish and fish-related products, accounting for over 1% of the total export income. This video highlights the thriving fishing industry in Bangladesh.
