Spring and Summer are approaching, if you'd like to see a video reviewing healthy sandals leave me a comment down below. Thanks for watching!
Yes please!!!!
Yes women sandals please
Well Dr Yoni you have outdone your kindness to your digital family with this shoe video. I am delighted to hear about these shoes and will be placing my order. Love ya to bits - Toronto
Thank you, Douglas. I'm so glad you enjoyed this video!
I sold men's shoes for a few years when I was in my early 20's. You nailed it Yoni--a good shoe with proper fit is worth way more than you paid for it! So important, yet few people know it.
100% Rondell!
Exactly the kind of information I've been looking for, and with so much attention to detail! Thanks, Yoni!
You're most welcome! I'm happy it was helpful!
Just purchased my first pair of Lems just about a month ago and I love them! I got the primal 2 in men's because I have an extra wide foot and I also got gray. Loved them so much I purchased a pair of boots and they are truly the most comfortable shoes I've EVER WORN!
Thanks for sharing, ladyfae!! I agree with you!
Would LOVE to see a video on sandals for wide feet that keep the big toe properly aligned!
Much appreciated, Kathy! The healthy sandals video is coming soon.
Those are very cool looking and I will definitely check them out.
Great suggestion! Thanks, Andres!
Peter Attia had a video on this - his guest was soooooo into feet! She also said how important a wide toe box is. You’d probably enjoy that video Yoni. I have a hard time finding a wide toe box - will check these out! Thanks!
Yes, great episode! A wide, human foot-shaped toe box is a non-negotiable requirement for the footwear of all my patients.
thanks for the info. Would be great to see a video on sandals
Thanks Katie! I'm adding the sandal video to list.
Thank you, although I have a narrow foot I think the softness and barefoot like shoe will be good for me.
You're most welcome. I hope you love them!
Dear Dr. Yonni,
I have a spur problem on my foot. Does Lens Primal 2 have something with an arch support?
Good question, Nina. The Primal 2s don't offer much in the way of arch support.
Pants are normally sized with two numbers: waist and leg (i.e., 34/32). Shoes should be sized similarly instead of just being D (medium), EE (wide), or EEEE (extra wide) and then whatever a company thinks their numbers correspond to - like US size 10 does not mean 10 inches.
Wouldn't it be nice if shoes were sized like, forgive my use of the metric system, 27 cm × 10.5 cm? Even if you wanted to stick with imperial units we could at least size things like 10" × 4½" It wouldn't be perfect but at least we could get close.
I know exactly what you mean! Yes, it would be great if there were more sizing options available so we could fine tune the fit of our footwear.
Great video! Is there also a big difference in width between Lems and Vivo?
Thanks Nathan! Not a big difference in terms of width, but the shape is different. It would be an interesting topic for a future video.
I have wide feet, and for the past year or so my big toe has become painful, like I can't put weight on it to do a pushup. Wondering if hiking in too narrow a boot is damaging the toe joint, causing the pain?
It's very possible. This video may be helpful for reversing the damage from years in narrow shoes: ruclips.net/video/37kWtqOxfVA/видео.html
I recently received a order of Altra lone peak 8 and Xero scrambler low. I removed the insoles on both and the side of my feet slightly hang off the sides .
I will have to try Lems instead
Thanks for sharing, Dennis! I was really interested in the Scrambler Low, but after hearing this not as much. I think you're gonna like the Primal 2!
@@painfixprotocolI have rather flat feet . The issue for me is that hang off a few cm on the outside of the insoles of the Altra lone peak 8 and Xero scramble, low right under the pinky toe joint .
Unfortunately, not many retail stores carry these ,thus shopping online can be difficult
Are the Lem shoes good for people who already have a bunion and one foot is a D width as a result?
Absolutely, Denise! One of the most important things for a person with bunions is to wear wider shoes that allow plenty of room for the toes.
I like your presentation butI have a question. Do you happen to know the width of the insert? That would be very helpful. And how does the wodth of the primal 2 compare to the prinal zens. Width is very important for me. 2e is to tight and 4E is to wide. I am having a hard time find the looks i like at the wider width. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I hear this a lot and even bought a few models of Lems but sadly they aren't really wide shoes. They are shoes with a wide toe box. If you have extra wide feet (4/6E) plus high volume feet (high arches and instep) then everything seems to feel too narrow in the mid-forefoot. To me they feel like a D width shoe that has an EE toe box. I wish they offered an actual wide lasted shoe.
Good video regardless. I'll check out some more. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed the video. One important thing to note is that Lems uses different last in different models. You can see this listed below the available sizes on their website (just above the ADD TO CART button).
@@painfixprotocol Yeah, I've tried the Boulder boot and primal 2 and while the primal 2 is wider it still isn't enough sadly. But thanks.
These were my favorite! Sadly the Primal 3 is not the same. It feels more constRictive. I hope the bring the 2s back.
100% agree, John! The Lems Primal 2 are a phenomenal shoe!
ow would a person know if they had a 'wide foot'? What determines that?
Great question! It's pretty easy - all you need is a ruler and the ability to recognize a couple anatomical landmarks. Here's an article about it: fitmyfoot.com/blogs/footprints/shoe-width-chart
Freet, Splay and SoftStar Primal Runamoc are very wide barefoot shoes. The Runamoc is insanely wide.
Thanks for sharing, Mamabear! I'll check them out.
I have 11.3 cm wide foot. Which shoes would be better suited for my feet ?
These Lems are some of the widest shoes available. I would definitely consider them!
Hi Dr. Yoni, thanks for sharing. Is this advisable for feet that are wide with no arches?
Great question, Michelle! The answer is maybe - it depends on why your feet have no arches. In this video, there's a discussion about the 3 different kinds of flat feet that I think will help you: ruclips.net/video/kqix3rfnsaA/видео.html
That part begins at 39:30
@@painfixprotocol Thanks! The link you shared Dr. Yoni was about shoulder pain but I found the correct link for your interview with Dr. Emily Splichal ruclips.net/video/MpavtQXG-MM/видео.htmlfeature=shared
I binged on a few more videos of hers too. Thanks so much for what you do! ❤
Almost all are sold out on the website. Obviously, very popular! 🙂
Yes, they are! For wide feet, the Primal 2's are great!
Do they have shoes for medium width shoes?
Some Lems shoes are wider than others. They do a nice thing on their website where they list the width of the last (mold) for each style of shoes they make. This information can be found below the sizes (and above the Add to Cart button).
Are there shoes also compatibel for running?
Yes. However, there are a couple things to keep in mind:
1. These are minimalist shoes - so if you're not accustomed to this type of footwear, you would want to transition slowly. It's best to start with walking and slowly ease up to running.
2. The compound in the soles is very soft, and I suspect they will wear out fast if you cover a lot of miles.
@@painfixprotocol So these are not customized for heavy endurance.
I am interested in the sandals
Thank you, Marion!
I have recently returned 5 pairs of hiking boots, and I am trying out a 6th, trying to find a good fit. Some companies' wide sizes aren't wide enough, or they're just the wrong shape. I like some wiggle room for my toes of course but my feet are widest at the mid-foot and I feel the squeeze in the blade of my foot.
I used to have less trouble finding shoes, but since beginning to work at home I have spent a lot of time not wearing shoes and I think my feet have changed shape. I used to get by just fine with generous fitting normal shoes.
I know what you mean. Have you tried anything from Lems yet?
I do have wide feet myself!!
Nice, Em! Then you'll probably enjoy & appreciate these shoes as much as I do!
Will this work as a court shoe for pickleball?
Good question, Myra! I suspect the soft bottoms wouldn't last long in that application.
These good for flat feet?
It depends on what type of flat feet you have. Some great info on this at 38:50 in this video: ruclips.net/video/kqix3rfnsaA/видео.html
Opinion on Nike air monarchs?
I'm not a fan for all the reasons outlined here: ruclips.net/video/MOv-ysyOWh8/видео.html
is this slip resistant
Yes, the soles of these shoes are very grippy!
too bad they are all out of stock on their site but the more expensive lems 3 are available in every option. go figure
Yes, Lems is moving from the Primal 2 to the new Primal 3, which I haven't had a chance to review yet. The Primal 2 was $110 and the Primal 3 is $120. There's an opportunity now to save 20% during the Memorial Day sale.
Altra have a few models in wide. I can trail run again!
Yes. I used to love Altra and have owned quite a few pairs. But I am not a fan of the direction they've gone in the past few years with thicker soles and more foam.
Brooks Ghost Max 4E are more comfortable & much better looking.
I'll leave the "much better looking" part aside because, as the saying goes: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beyond physical appearances though, the Brooks Ghost Max shoes appears to be problematic for multiple reasons - all of which are covered in this video: ruclips.net/video/MOv-ysyOWh8/видео.html
Lems literally doesn't make an extra wide size shoe.
Lems uses a much wider last than most shoe companies. And the shoes with the widest fit, like the Primal and Primal Zen, are significantly wider in the toe box than almost anything else you'll find.
@@painfixprotocol right, in the toe box, not in the general fitment of the shoe. 🤷♀️
