    Is it possible to do stealth without "silent assassin"?

  • @souloftherisingsun8274
    @souloftherisingsun8274 4 года назад

    Is Silent Assassin necessary for stealth? Because I’m trying to replicate the stealth kill against El Dorado’s Disciple and it’s honestly frustrating. And I have done the stealth kill before, but it just seems SO finicky. Like, the boss is on my nuts even though I’m not shooting and trying to stay out of sight from enemies. It really feels like I can only get it rarely.
    No matter how hard I try, the boss just ends up finding me anyway. Even when I fall back and wait in cover after using path of Indra and no one can see me. They just automatically know after a certain point. Is there any way to properly use stealth other than staying out of sight? Am I missing something? Is it because I’m doing it on Crushing that enemies are easily aware even though they’re supposed to lost sight of you? Is it because I might have the highest kill count for the team at that moment, which affects the aggro for enemies? I’m lost, there has to be an easier way to stealth kill as well as stealth kill bosses

    • @blitzplay1638
      @blitzplay1638 4 года назад

      Silent Assassin isn't needed but that 4 sec immunity is useful when you stealth kill someone unnoticed and there's another enemy nearby. Often some enemies come to check your current hiding location, can't really prevent that and being seen for a split second is enough to break stealth. Warlords seem to know where you are while in stealth so someone needs distract them while you flank.
      Also keep in mind that stealth is kind of a hidden feature in Survival. It has some unfinished details which is prolly why devs left it in the dark.

      @souloftherisingsun8274 4 года назад

      BlitzPlay I see. I don’t typically pick my load out with Silent Assassin for various reasons. The main one being that I enjoy survival for the combat, so I pretty much play arena most times which means playing with random players. I end up not using it because there’s a 1/3 chance that I end up being host. And that’s not to mention if players end up getting the enemy’s attention the way I need them to for my stealth to work. Another reason why I don’t pick it is because I tried to once and paid the price for it. Not only was I not host, but those 10 waves took way longer than it should. Because of that, I absolutely REFUSE to play survival without Prizefighter/Deadeye 3 and Iron Jaw 2. They’re too helpful to me.
      In regards to the enemies, sometimes they swarm in such a way that makes it harder to stealth kill them, but I suppose Silent Assassin would make that easier. And in regards to the Warlord, now that makes sense. I’ve gotten it on the disciples but never on Henry or Adam. Very hard to do it on them. But now I see why, they’re just programmed to know that you’re there which is annoying.
      A few more questions about stealth...
      1. How long would you say it takes for stealth to activate while in cover after using Path of Indra? In my experience versus bosses, I want to say at least 3-4 seconds? Also, are there other methods to activate stealth even when not host?
      2. Is it possible to stealth using Djinn? I did it once by accident and don’t know how I did. It was on Treasure Colony. One of the enemies was jumping through a window, I dashed towards him using circle and snapped his neck. Might’ve been a glitch on my end though.
      3. Do you have to wait for specific animations to snap necks on Henry/Adam? I’ve tried to but with absolutely no luck. Can you even still do it, or is it patched?
      Thanks in advance.

      @@souloftherisingsun8274 1. Stealth activates immediately after teleporting. Sometimes enemies still shoot at your direction but if they didn't see you, stealth is active.
      2. Yes. Did you see my "wave 26 stealth only" video? There I use djinn to activate stealth. You attack an enemy that's busy doing certain actions (like jumping over obstacles) and when timed right you perform a stealth kill and stealth mode activates. It's more tricky than Indra.
      3. They have some animations that prevent you from using melee but that's it.
      I use Silent Assassin all the time since it fits to my playstyle, even without stealth. Often I like going up close and personal with enemies and SA gives enough room to escape when action gets too hot.

    • @souloftherisingsun8274
      @souloftherisingsun8274 4 года назад

      BlitzPlay
      1. So hiding in cover is just insurance after teleporting? To get enemies off of you? Because my initial comment where I was fighting the Dorado disciple (which was on auction house) was a pain because even after I teleported and went straight for him he didn’t seem to care and kicked me down. The one time I did get it the animation glitches out because he summoned a Dorado right as I caught his neck. But now it’s helpful to know that it activates immediately. In that case, is there like a cool down for enemies not to see you after teleporting? In my experience, unless they’re downed players tend to be in open spaces surrounded by enemies so it doesn’t leave me much room for cover after teleporting. Although I guess having Silent Assassin for situations like that could help.
      2. Yes, I have. Thing is, it’s hard to tell when it is and when it’s not a stealth kill in that case. In story mode, you can clearly tell when you stealth kill someone. That kick is one of them. But in survival, it’s different. Kicking them off the ledge is also a way to take them out, so it’s sort of challenging to see what is and what is not a stealth kill. That’s just me not knowing the timing for Djinn, but if I had to guess I would say that you have to attack them as soon as they land. The reason why I brought up my example is that I wasn’t using and hadn’t used Path of Indra that time, only Djinn. Enemies knew where I was, yet somehow I was able to do a stealth kill with enemies aware of me. Unless when they shout stuff like “he went over there!” And the like, it allows for an opportunity like that.
      3. Then I guess I’m just not going to get it, trying to stealth kill them is all luck to the point where it’s easier to just kill them normally. In that video where you killed Avery on auction house, I’ve tried to replicate that same scenario but to no avail. It’s pretty tough. Not only am I dealing with a short period of time with being “invisible” plus bosses tend to know where you are right away unless someone draws their fire, but trying to set them up near waist high cover so you can climb up and kick them is nearly impossible. And I’ve never been able to snap their necks normally. I know that you are able to as soon as they teleport, but trying to time that after using Path of Indra in the short period you even have is not something I’ve grasped yet.
      We might be on the opposite ends then. That’s not to say that booster is bad, but with the way I play I’m even more up close and personal. Granted, the way I play is much more risky but I find it fun. Prizefighter because I love the melee in Uncharted. Deadeye because enemies are a little too tanky. Iron Jaw to pretty much have immunity to hunters and so that people will counter my melee less often. Maybe I might give it more of a chance in the future, it’s just that I’m too used to direct combat and not used to relying on needing to be host. Thanks for the responses.

    • @blitzplay1638
      @blitzplay1638 4 года назад

      @@souloftherisingsun8274 Oh, I like risky tactics too and SA fits well with it when used right. I also use Prizefighter and Iron Jaw while playing arena, makes normal melee more effective.
      1. Cover should be used much as possible while in stealth so enemies are less likely to spot you. If brutes summon mysticals while struggling then stealth breaks, happens to me as well. Enemies seeing you after teleporting usually means game over right away.
      2. When stealth kicking an enemy off the ledge, the camera zooms in a bit like with some stealth kills. Have you noticed? If you kick them while not in stealth there's no zoom in.
      3. Stealth killing Warlords solo or with randoms is harder than with people who know you're going for it. I rarely get Avery or Adam stealth kills with random players.
