I really appreciate that you all recognized and commented about their dedication to their country! I served in the Marine corps, and it upsets me when fellow americans talk negatively about our soldiers. Every person that joins, knows full well that they may have to put their lives on the line...Whether is defending the nation, or going all over the world putting their lives on the line for people they dont know...they only know that there are bad people that are willing to hurt the innocent to achieve their goals. It takes a special person willing to put their lives at risk for others, while their own family friends and loved one wait at home for them to hopefully come home. Ive met, and know of soldiers that are willing to return to battle over and over again, when they could go home. They have an intense burning desire to end bad people. Some will say thats still bad...well I say, that as long as there are people willing to kill people that want to kill other people....the right people are on the job.
@@tylermiller848 Good Job! Remember, no matter how tough it gets and how tough the instructors are...Once its all over, and many years down the road, itll be one of the most amazing things you can do for yourself. Take that opportunity to master disciplining yourself and youll love it. Ooooh Rahhh.
My brother was an army veteran. We were talking about which soldiers should get medical treatment. He said only ones who were injured. I said everyone should be treated. He said that he wasn't injured. I said, "YOU COULD HAVE BEEN." We both forgot that he was nearly paralyzed in Germany while on duty. Every person who serves in the United States Military deserves every benefit we can give them!
I went through US Navy Boot Camp in 1980. Remember, every one of those kids. Every one of those US teenagers, volunteered to go through that for the privilege of serving in the US Marine Corps. No "conscription" in the US Armed Forces. We do this so others can enjoy the freedoms the USA stands for even if we fall short of our own ideals at times.

@ I didn’t forget them. They are a part of the Department of Homeland Security (more law enforcement); not necessarily a part of the Department of Defense unless wartime (which then they are under the Navy). I suppose you could include them but then you could make a similar argument about the FBI and CIA under that logic. Both carry out functions in National Defense during emergencies and wartime. I think they will definitely be playing a DOD roll in the near future with Trump’s policies regarding our Southern border.
Dad went in Army in WW2 pretending he was older, he was in the air force following its birth in 1947. Korea is where he saw most of his action, told they did not need his job there but his combat training. He left when I was young for Vietnam mid 60s. Family life was OK until the early 70s when he started getting angry, mostly at me. I joined the Air Force in 1981 signing on at age 17. Arrived Friday night, shed a few tears Saturday night, all weekend traing in my clothes & hair, none of it counting towards time in basic. If I made a mistake and confessed it, they kept their word, some yelling and moved on, far and above my childhood at home. 3 edible meals a day, new clothes, I remained working and studying to get out on time, gave up 1 base and 3 town passes. I don't remember parents there or graduation, would have been a thing of weakness the way I was raised. I volunteered any time someone complained of missing a retreat or parade for dorm guard. The USAF supplied me with 2 sets of legs braces at Dover AFB as an infant, so I was tortured by those until age 3 or 4. They twist and contort you hoping you'll grow straight with the horrendous pressure they apply. Due to record keeping or lack of, USAF did not know I was 4F, flat feet too. 4 years and out, had my dependent ID during basic training too. Watched recent videos, USAF has it tougher, more intense and longer than I was in. I excelled at running and a few exercises, weak on push ups and pull ups. Doing 1 arm push ups by the time I went to tech. school. It was my mid 20s where walking wasn't torture anymore, but I thought everyone hurt when walking, thus horses, cars & stuff. Friend told me my senior year, walking was not supposed to hurt, go figure??
The Marine Corps and the Army are two different branches of the military. The Marine Corps training is much more difficult, because they are the first ones in for an attack. The instructors are very strict on them so they don't make the same mistake twice, if they make a mistake during combat, one of them could get a dozen of them killed!
This is a few years old. San Diego has women now. My son graduated MCRD San Diego in 2023. Even though women had been there for a couple of years it was the first for Fox Company to have a women's platoon. The Crucible is very intense and even more so in California because the terraine is more rocky and in the mountains whereas Parris Island is almost flat when you compare. They Reaper is the last challenge in EARNing the EGA.
I graduated from Fox at San Diego. Lots of mixed feelings about the whole females being integrated thing but a Marine is a Marine. Tell your kid Semper Fi.
Regardless of the branch of the military you go into, you learn one thing that lasts for lifetime, trust your training, and your gear. That's all you'll ever have in life, tools and experience. That's as old as time.
I’m a military veteran 47 years old I’m waiting for Jesus to come soon come Lord Jesus come I saw enough of the craziness of this world when I was in the military station down in the Caribbean islands and thank God that I made it through it now. Pray for all of you that are still in the military my brothers and sisters and all branches. God bless Godspeed.
I'm wondering why those gas masks were still on their heads when they came out of the gas chamber. What happened to taking it off and stating name and service number? I'm happy that you were respectful. Every countries soldiers deserve respect. Not un-uniformed terrorists.
@amazingman63 actual war involves a lot more than just shooting a rifle. A whole lotta more ! It is no place for a woman and any real man wouldn't want that for a woman.

I did that at Pendelton back in 1972. They were checking to see if you ate your veggies.

It is a terrible mistake to mix the men and women.. it has already been fatal.
If a person can shoot a rifle they can fight in a war.
Marine Corps mixes them now too. Hopefully this changes now that Trump is President again
