I found Colm during the Lockdown. I was watching Critical Role, a D&D role play show. The new interlude music for the intermission (it is a 4 hour show) came on and I was enchanted. Turns out the piece, called Welcome To Wildmount, was by Colm who besides being a fan of the show, was a newly minted composer recently finished with school. The piece is totally orchestral and just heavenly. As for the gorgeous sweaters, he lives on an island just off the coast of main Ireland. He is so rural that it takes around 2 hours to upload one of his vids and that is on a good day. Oh and he has a link to the shop he gets those amazing sweater in his vids.

I vaguely recognised the song at the same point you did...funny how one tiny part of a song goes viral and so many from different walks of life know the song without knowing they know the song. This is a really good version of the song though, and so pretty when it starts. Colm's talent with instruments amazes me every time, it really is very impressive.

Poor Man's Poison did the song originally. There are several versions of it about but Colm's is definitely one of the better ones! I think you'll find he's nearly always in an Aran sweater because he's advertising them and I also think that instrument that you don't recognise might be a bouzouki.
I think you are right about it being a bouzouki, someone mentioned it in a previous video as well.
@@toddmaliepaard9777 The reason I say that is because Jonathan Young plays a similar looking instrument which he says is a bouzouki and I think he has also said that Colm has one. Could have been me that mentioned it previously as well

That "growl' , is more a roll of the R sound. Usually Irish and Scottish singers do it .

The instrument you can't place is called a Irish bouzouki but as far as I know also called a lute.
