Even though the pianist messes up occasionally, I like this performance better than the studio recording because Kauffman’s voice has a little more zing to it here.

Beautiful. Thank you "Listen To Jonas Kaufmann." This was at Bad Urach concert and in 2000? I've heard pieces from that concert some time ago, but I don't remember whether they were Sonetti di Petrarca. He sounds technically a little young and less expressive than today, though he is already excellent (the third song had a couple of unsure notes). But these are difficult songs. His voice is very beautiful.
