One minute you're a kid playing as this guy in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, next minute you're in your 30s and the algorithm is recommending you watch him build a car. Rad 😎
I thought the same thing lol. I was heavy into skateboarding as a kid playing tony hawk and now I’m heavy into cars watching a character from the game build a Subaru lol
Have never heard of Bucky Lasek until I started watching 2.5rs videos and THIS video came up on my feed. Seen this like 6 times already. Love it everytime!
I just finished the entire series and I have to say… 1. Netflix should pick this up! It’s arguably one of the best car shows I’ve ever seen! 2. Buck’s fab skills are indeed impressive. Not everyone can do that. 3. You can tell Bucky isn’t just a hotshot driver that Subaru brought in. He’s a true fan of the sport and the industry. 4. My favorite part was the tortoises.
Subaru. Thanks!
This is one of my favorite videos on RUclips now. Awesome. Also I'm pretty much amazed when people can do it all. I can do the nuts and bolts mechanical stuff but watching Bucky do all that AND talented body work and paint as well. Incredible.
If this is not the definition of "built not bought" then I don't know what is. Great job as always Bucky. Sweet to see Cameron Alford putting this together for you (the video) I love his channel and brand.
Such a sick build! I’m getting prepped for mine pretty soon. I have a 2000 2.5rs and the donor already which is an 05 sti. I always come back to these vids to get some more inspiration.
If this series didn't motivate folks to get off their ass and finish their projects, I don't know how else you can help them! Thanks for the excellent content also @4:04 heh
...And now my car is running and driving with the swap, thanks to your inspiration and a merge from iwire. Every time I speak with someone about my car and they ask why I built it, I send them back to this video to explain my inspiration!
As an VAG diehard... I am jealous. Not going to lie, I love my Mom's Atlas. Wild how efficient those boxers are. My near 60 year old mom's SUV makes 50 more HP than my MK7 GTI did stock (both 2.0T 4 bangers). Driving a 3 series inline 6 now but man I won't lie... wish my VW made subaru power.
I'm awe inspired. You're just like the owner of my local private Subaru specialty shop. A person I am determined to be like. Thanks for existing and doing epic stuff.
I owned a 2 door 1996 impreza Ls just like this, had to get rid of her due to my stability and financial issues in 2006. I wanted to do this to her so bad. These days I have a 2005 WRX blobeye, still happy
I’ve been saying since 2001 that it’s a great looking car and my opinion has only gotten stronger. We only got the 2.5RS here in the states and I would have loved to have one back then. This wide body build is just next level and looks so good. That 555 Rallye car wide body generation is still Subaru’s best model design.
I just want to say thank you, Watching this video motivated me to finally do something with my gf8. I just bought it and it only has 69k original miles. Now’s its time yo get to it.
@@BuckyLasekOfficial lol nice one Bucky. I enjoy the process of the car everything you do, its not perfect but its yours and is reliable the car. Thanks for all the videos
Really cool work, my favorite it was the wheelwell liners. That is an awesome detail. Nice work all around. Thanks for sharing. I say this as an original GC8 cobb tuned edition owner, I wanted to STI swap mine but sold it for a TDI jetta
This got recommended for me as I'm a subaru owner myself and was genuinely amazed as its bucky.. I grew up watching you when I was into skating, man you've done an incredible job there.. Subbed 😊👌
Genius mann it must be nice to know how to work everything yourself. I've got something similar its parked up now, I'm saving up for repairs and it's been 2years it had some power at the wheels mann but after seeing this video dude ur awesome real talk.
Totally forgot you guys over in USA only got the 2.5L engine, not the EJ20 turbo like us in the UK. I had a Mk1 Scooby Series McRae in 1995-1998. Awesome car :)
Indeed. It was Subaru (and Subaru USA) dipping their toe in the water, so to speak. The 2.5RS is what convinced Subaru to bring the WRX, which in turn convinced them to bring the STI.
the quality of this video is phenomenal!! the editing and quality of this kind of video should have of minimum a million sub!! holy shit i am loving the build and this guys is an inspiration! he is like a role model to me 💯🙏💕
Hell yeah Bucky! Loved watching the whole process of the build, really turned out sick! Love your channel and glad to see your still tearing it up on the board too. My first pro board was actually your Birdhouse Oriole bird lighting a fart graphic way back in like 99. Keep up the great videos!!!🤘
One of the absolute nicest gc8 on this planet and it's driven how it should be🤜🤛
Thank you
100%
Gm8*
Not a GC8...
Tony Hawks reaction says it all. Sick car dude
Man, having been watching skateboarding since the early 90’s this warms my heart watching Buckey into cars as well! Love it!!
One minute you're a kid playing as this guy in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, next minute you're in your 30s and the algorithm is recommending you watch him build a car. Rad 😎
Haha, crazy huh👊🏼😉
I know right!?
I thought the same thing lol. I was heavy into skateboarding as a kid playing tony hawk and now I’m heavy into cars watching a character from the game build a Subaru lol
whattttt!!!! I love these cars and my mom had an impreza one when I was born, I need to build one or have one built!!
It's the Subie Wooo Clue 💪💪🏆🏆🏆@@BuckyLasekOfficial
That's probably the most complete rebuild I've ever seen of any car. Maybe 5 to 10 percent of the car is original. You are the ultimate Subaru fan.
Thanks, it’s been such an amazing build with friends and one I’ll remember forever.
I’m proud of myself for watching every single episode of this build 😂
I only watched when they bought the donor and this one lol
First you taught me how to drop in, now you have taught me how to do wheel well liners. I appreciate you

BuckYeah been trying to find your channel again for months The 2 top comments say it best And salute to the daughter on the intro 👊 respect bro
I always thought Bucky was the guy. This really shows he is all-time. Love the build and how relatable it is.
Thank you
One of the coolest and most entertaining builds on youtube for sure. Love every episode of it.
Thanks for tuning in 👊🏼😉
If the great Colin McRae was still around and came face to face with
BuckYeah GC8 Subaru Impreza , I bet he’d give it a nod of approval.
bruh, he would be in that thing so quick with the pedal to the floor!!! This is such a killer build
It would be an honor to hand him the keys.
@@BuckyLasekOfficial based on how his cars looked at the end of a rally (stage 2), handing him the keys would be a mistake :)
@@mcspeedypantsjr5713 McRae like pushing to the limit or what he says what limit?
@@DespaceMan McRae when he'd say "what limit?", only for the limit to appear in the form of a tree or ditch :)
I recall going to a rally in S Wales where both Bertie and Mark Fisher (RIP to both) had each a GC8 rallying in the forests
Hands down best buld on RUclips. Congrats, you made every Subaru/WRC fans dream car, perfectly
Thank you
that made the build look so much easier then it really is!
Maybe a little.
If we only knew the real amount of man-hours/time.... 🕟

after keeping up with the whole series its nice to watch a recap this car is a gem

Beautiful! A bit more HP than necessary but that is just a side note. Congratulations on a very special vehicle build!
Buck, You are a damn wizard. That car is something else man. Tony's reaction in the end was priceless.

Phenomenal build! White is such an elegant, underrated color on these cars. I love how it looks on my Impreza RS wagon.
Couldn't agree more!
this car rules... from such humble beginnings
This is the real car builder!

Super cool, super clean and you got Tony Hawk to swear. Think it's safe to say you nailed it.

No Bucky your a diamond in the rough. Killer video bro.
