I love roll & writes that keep the inactive players involved at all times. This keeps downtime to a minimum. I also like that I may want to pick a combination that isn't the best for me, but keeps them out of the hands of the other player(s). I really like the card game -- this looks like a lighter version. I highly recommend that you guys play it. I can't think of an existing boardgame that I'd to be translated to roll & write. I feel that not every game should "roll & write-ified", but I love when it works well.
Thanks for reviewing this, it sounds like a lot of fun! I haven't had a chance to play any roll and write games yet, but I think Karuba would be an interesting one to play in roll and write format.
I haven't really delved into the extensive world of Roll & Write games yet and can't see any of the games I regularly play translating well... However, your series is really peaking my interest in the genre and getting me excited to give some more a try! Thanks for the great breakdown of this one 🎲
QOTD: Scoville! I love Lost Cities. I have it physically and play it on BGA too! Great 2 player! Hadn't heard of the roll and write! Now I have to get it!
Lost Cities (the original) is one of the first board game I bought when I got into the hobby way back in 2006 :) As for your question... As soon as I heard it, I also thought of Wingspan.
Well a variation of it will be available in the new Rolling Realms published by Stonemaier Games. There is a viticulture realm with dice placement rules.
@@kovray I am aware, and have been enjoying Rolling Realms since last year, but I need more Viticulture than that! LOL (I love Viticulture...if you couldn't tell)
Lost Cities was one of my favourite games 20 years ago, but this year Ive played the Roll&Write and I like it too I think, Splendor should get a Rooll&Write-version
Sagrada, to me, screams that it could be a Roll and Write. Maybe you roll dice to build your player board and then roll the Sagrada dice to fill it up. How long can you go continuing to build until you back yourself into a corner? Love Lost Cities! Not sold on the Roll and Write, but I can see why people like it.
Ooo I would be very interested in how Wingspan would convert over. But I think of the games in my collection, if love to see Root adapted into a roll and write, some adorable custom dice for each faction and smaller to quickly pick up and bring everywhere with me; each faction would have different roll objectives. Also just say your tiktok about cat cafe and I am now trying to figure out how soon i can get that game onto my shelf!
I have no idea how you would do it but I would love someone to do Eldritch Horrors as a roll and write or a flip and write. Something with a lovecraft theme! Lol also not a game designer.
Thank you for exposing me to so many great games that I need to check out
Any time! We really wanted to share as many as we could throughout this month!
Carcassonne roll and write. No idea how it could even happen but it would be cool!
Already sold, that would be so much fun!
Great review guys! helped me learn the rules.
Great to hear! Thanks so much for watching Craig!
Hey Craig! You won a copy of Sonora! Can you shoot us an email so we can confirm all the details? It's contact@kovray.com
This looks like a really appealing game i think. I especially love the container you throw dice in. I think Azul would be great as R&W Game.
The dice trays are actually from Steeped Games! They're absolutely stunning! I also agree that Azul would be lovely.
Added this to my wish list. Great video. Makes me want to play it.
You should! I would love to hear your thoughts, its such a friendly game too, I know you and your family will enjoy it.
Tough questions…I think that Grand Austria Hotel would be a really awesome R&W
Ooooo I agree! That one would be quite fun

We definitely will make the time to play Lost Cities sometime soon! I also love when a reimplementation is smooth and inviting.

There is a Karuba the Card Game, it's a bit of a streamlined version of the game but I agree we need a Karuba the Roll and Write

Well this is just about the best comment I could have read! Thank you.
QOTD: Scoville!

Ah I'm glad we've inspired you! I really need to get a copy of Lost Cities!

It'd be interesting right? Hope you get to try the roll and write out, would love your comparison.
I think that a Wingspan R&W would be really neat
That would make me so happy!
This one I really wanna try. Loved hearing y’all’s thoughts. Also great question yall! 🤔 I think Roll Player would make an excellent R&W
Im genuinely surprised Roll Player isn't one yet!
I'd love to see Viticulture as a roll and write!

@@Golden_Mustang Cant blame you its a wonderful game!
I would say a roll n write of Azul would be great.
Genuinely surprised there isn't one to be honest.
Thanks for this guys! I'd love to win :)
Thanks for commenting! Hope you appreciate some of the content!
I believe that Viticulture would be a fun roll and write
I agree, dice and making wine!
This looks like a great adaptation of the card game.
We still need to play the original, but we certainly love this one.
Lost Cities was one of my favourite games 20 years ago, but this year Ive played the Roll&Write and I like it too
I think, Splendor should get a Rooll&Write-version
That is another one that I am surprised hasn't been done.
I’m actually much more interested in this game now- thanks guys!
Can you link the dice tray?? Those are so pretty!
They're from Stepped Games! I dont think the sales are live yet but check out their website: steepedgames.com
A cool adaptation would be wingspan!
Yesssss!!! I need more Wingspan in my life.
Maybe a roll and write version of The Networks would be fun
Oooo I havent heard of The Networks, I will have to look into it.
I fun Roll and Write game would be Too Many Bones!
YES! That would be incredible.
Ooo Sagrada would be interesting! The dice are also beautiful so it would be a fun little pivot.
I think it would be really cool if there were a roll and write version of Terraforming Mars!!
I agree! I still cant believe its not a thing!
Hmmm I think Terraforming Mars roll and write would be a hit!
Another one I'm surprised hasn't happened yet, I feel like it'd be fairly easy to integrate it as well.
Ooo I would be very interested in how Wingspan would convert over.

Ahhh Cat Cafe is actually so much fun! You got me day dreaming about a Root Roll and Write... The POSSIBILITIES!
I wonder if Patchwork could be turned into a roll and write...I guess it would be similar to Cartographers then
It actually is! Patchwork Doodle is the Roll and Write version!
A roll and write version of Roll Player would work well I think
I'm genuinely surprised there isn't one yet.
Ticket to Ride!
I'm honestly surprised there isn't one yet!
Hmmm that’s a tough question. I would probably say a Marvel themed one similar to Marvel Champions
That would be so much fun!
Terraforming Mars, of course!
Someone mentioned this one earlier, and I am truly surprised it isnt one yet.
I have no idea how you would do it but I would love someone to do Eldritch Horrors as a roll and write or a flip and write. Something with a lovecraft theme! Lol also not a game designer.
Ooooo that would be super interesting!
Maybe not for me but good review.
Appreciate the honesty! Thanks for watching.
