My first pair of Redbacks lasted 5.5 years. Changed the insoles every year. I've got 2 years on my second pair as of now. I'll never wear another brand of work footwear.
Best boots ever made. I have two full time jobs in the aviation industry and 3 days a week I spend 20 hrs standing around and man this babies are a bless.
I love my redbacks! been on my pair for about a year now. I use the green Superfeet insoles and it has been a perfect combo for me. they're light enough, super comfortable, and I can really move in them like no other boot. the soles are barely worn and I work in them roughly 50 hours a week.
I've been buying Redback boots offf a Matco tool truck for the last 15 years. They are kind spendy at 200 dollars a pair, but I wear these boots everyday and get close to 3 years out of them before its time to replace them...The toe upgrade is another upgrade well worth the money.
I have been buying Thorogood boots my whole life specificly the Thorogood American heritage boot. I can't even put into words how good they are. I highly recommend them
Best boot ever made. I've worn them on major wildfires when I was on the fire department, I've worn them as a flight paramedic, worn them elk hunting and working as a fleet mechanic. I even wear them around everyday just as comfortable footwear. It took me over 10 years to wear out my first pair, and I beat the shit out of them. I only got rid of them when the sole got too thin. I cannot emphasize how badass these boots are. Best place I've found to buy them is eBay.
Love my Redbacks! Been wearing them since 2016 when I was at PepBoys and I'm on my fourth pair. Always go for the upgraded insole! If you can afford it, get two pairs and alternate them so each pair has 24 hours to rest and they will last longer. Take care of your boots and they will take care of you!
Not really that expensive it's just the fact that cheap footwear is so cheap these days that they seem high. I remember when people used to be offended by inferior footwear and Payless or Kmart were about the only place to get disposable shoes.
I wear Carolina electric had them for two years. Slip resistant started to go a little bit . But only for a hundred bucks with dr gels in them work great Matco guy told me to get the red backs still have not jumped for them. Love the vids man really appreciate a master tech taking time to tell the young bucks what's up.
I recommend these to anyone that does a lot of walking at their job. High/great quality, Very comfortable for a boot. I have mine on right now. Had them for 5 years! But them in August of 2016.
I had mine for 2 years working in rough ground like gravel and stepping on all kinds of bed chemicals. These boots really hold up and last long time. I’m just now ordering new boots because my wife said they are old and look ugly.
I have a pair of Redbacks and love them.Learned my lesson on work boots, don't buy the cheap pairs.I have bought the work boots from Wal Mart, don't last worth a crap getting a year out of them.I did get 3 years out of my last pair of Redbacks. The Redbacks are in Australia shoe sizes,go down one size of the American shoe size.
I had a pair of CAT excavator boots that only lasted 6 months before the leather came apart and the sole separated. They were too loose and uncomfortable I will be trying a set of redbacks next.
You have to buy them snug, and if you get them right, they fit like a glove! no flop if the flopped around on the heal I would have dumped them along time ago!
I couldn't agree more! Redback steel-toe slip-ons!!! I have dr schols gel insert. I've only had to buy new ones maybe every 3 years and I walk a lot everyday (5-12 miles on average) at work. I'm a fleet mechanic at AvisBudget car rental. I love my redbacks! Plus I have a size 12 wide, they are the best steel-toe shoe especially for wider feet! I'm on my third pair.
I've Been Wearing Redbacks On & off For Years. I've also worn Justins & Redwings. I'm wearing Redbacks Again. I Can't Ever Get the Toe Guards To stay on So I Gave Up. They're Great In the Summer. In the winter When its Cold. " A Week or so a year in Texas" You'll want a Warmer Boot
I recently found your channel so I have been going back and watching old videos like this one. Have you ever heard of the product Tuff Toe? I am a forklift mechanic and the toes of my boots take a beating but I have had it on my Redbacks for 2 years now and the toes are barely scuffed. It is so good that now the soles are the failure point. You can find it on Amazon and I would recommend getting the applicator gun as well because it makes it so much easier to apply the stuff than just using the kit as it comes. It is a little pricey initially with the addition of the applicator but you only have to buy that once, next time it will be half the cost. It is worth every penny! There are plenty of reviews and instruction videos of the product here on RUclips as well.
Question should this boots fit a bit loose on the sides? I know a lot of people that swear by them so I bought a pair..well 2 to be exact since they run different then us sizes. Im 8 in us but in their size 7, length is fine with the one finger close to end of boot.but side fit is a bit loose and 7.5 (us)boot fit on the side is tight and very close to toe fit.. how do they fit in your feet?
When you first get them they should be very tight on your feet and after they wear in they will be very comfortable, but they will hurt when you first get the if they are sized right
Yea Thats a plus...will see how it works just dont like the fit tight and wnted to make sure it was normal from someone who wears them..Hahaha meaning you
Just came across your video, have one question for you? You said the sizes were different from the US size, so what size do you normally wear, and what size are your boots, they look rather huge? Thanks!
Gday all, sorry I know this is an old post... Being Australian i have been wearing Redback and Blundstone boots for most of my life (50years).. I think both were originally Australian made, but now think they are both made in Pakistan?.... The quality isnt what it used to be when they were Australian (especially Blundstone) BUT they are still some of the most comfortable and long lasting boots that I have ever found.. I tend to only buy Redback now- softer and better grip., I wear my Redbacks daily and get YEARS out of them!
We also tend to rub in "Dubbin (wax shoe treatment)" when we first get them- softens them up and they seem to last even longer... Believe it or not the Blundstone brand of this style was actually a bit of a fashion item back in the 80's :) (bit like doc martins i suppose)
The sizing for these boots is different than our system. For example a AU size 8 and 8.5 are the same length but the ".5" means wide So to answer your question i believe you should order an 8.5. Because our size 9 is their size 8
Non Pharmaceutical nano zinc powder is the best and most cost effective cure for stinky boots. $20 for a big bag. That's probably a lifetime supply. Sprinkle a little in the boots every few days for a couple weeks and the smell is gone for another year. Your welcome! These boots are awesome! The soul lasts forever. Light weight. Upgrade the insole definitely.
Redback boots are rubbish. I had a new pair that totally failed after three days use in the bush. The heel and sole came apart, leaving me stranded...that heavens for fabric tape. In my experience you cannot trust these boots to be reliable.
My first pair of Redbacks lasted 5.5 years. Changed the insoles every year. I've got 2 years on my second pair as of now. I'll never wear another brand of work footwear.
Great boots!
Sometimes I forget mine are Steel toe, they’re so light and comfortable. Great Brand

Good to know!

I like them!
I'm an auto painter and get 3 years out of them. I wear them on weekends also because they are light and more comfortable than my Newbalance 608s.

So true!
Best work work Boot in my opinion. I have had mine for two years.
Awesome!

Nice!
i own redback boots best pair of boots ive ever owned. the insert took awhile to get uncofortable about 1year. feels like im walking on clouds.
Best Pair I have owned! I hated wearing boots until these!
I had mine for 2 years working in rough ground like gravel and stepping on all kinds of bed chemicals. These boots really hold up and last long time. I’m just now ordering new boots because my wife said they are old and look ugly.

wafrederick does anything last from malmart
Not their work boots so far
wafrederick I just buy food from Walmart I seem to get better luck from target
Funny thing is I am in the same size I wear in american sizes, the size down was too small:) But I have really wide feet:(
I wear a size 12 American and Australia shoe size is an 11.
I’ve had red backs they are good but you should try red wing 606 model I got those and I’m never going back for auto
I had a pair of CAT excavator boots that only lasted 6 months before the leather came apart and the sole separated. They were too loose and uncomfortable I will be trying a set of redbacks next.
I work in the recycling facility and i am lucky to get a year out of a pair of boots i am willing to give these a shot
Never seen laceless work boots... huh. Do they fit snug? I like a tight fit... keeps the heals from flopping.
You have to buy them snug, and if you get them right, they fit like a glove! no flop if the flopped around on the heal I would have dumped them along time ago!
My favorite boots great quality good workmanship worth the price if you get them from ebay stores you'll save some money my 2 cents.
Do you still ware the Red back boots?
Ha ha, you seen my IG post with my foot ware. lol But I agree, pounding the floor 8-10 hours will take a toll on cheap shoes.
LOL!
I agree. hurt so much till i put some Scholl gel insoles in. heaven for 2 yrs but the price off the trucks is just too much for my blood.
I got them off the truck on a deal about what I could get them on Amazon for:)
are they steel toe
Mine were not, but i think you can get them in steel
@@flatratemaster where do these trucks post shop at?
I wear a US10 should I do a 8.5? Half size smaller then recommended?

One of my toe guards is coming off:(
How have they held up years later?
They have, due to a very coarse sand coating in my bays i wear the tips of my boots well before the soles, even using a toe guard on them

thanks again
My Matco Dealer stocks them so it was easy for me to try them on and get the correct size
Yea Thats a plus...will see how it works just dont like the fit tight and wnted to make sure it was normal from someone who wears them..Hahaha meaning you
I've been contemplating buying a pair of these. Will they stay on if I run? I never had a slip-on boot. I have heard good things about them though.
Yes, as long as you buy the right size
Just came across your video, have one question for you? You said the sizes were different from the US size, so what size do you normally wear, and what size are your boots, they look rather huge?

+Mjd12150Test Tes they usually run 1 size smaller than you normally wear, mine are 10.5
They are made in Australia. If you wear a 10, get a 9
Was deff a hot one today in the ATLANTA.
Yes it was and its only june:(

As a "non steel capped work boot" I have never had anything that has ever even come close (comfort AND durability)
We also tend to rub in "Dubbin (wax shoe treatment)" when we first get them- softens them up and they seem to last even longer... Believe it or not the Blundstone brand of this style was actually a bit of a fashion item back in the 80's :) (bit like doc martins i suppose)
I was considering those for my next work boot. I wear Wellington boots these look smaller lighter.
I do agree with you the best boot I ever buy it
I wear a size 8.5 US. should I go a full size down or half a size down?
One size down
I were a size 9 1/2 wide in a redwing and rocky boots with steel toe what size would i need in a redback

Try a pair of the green Super Feet insoles they are great !
Thanks!
Love these shoes but I work in Colorado and shoes are not water proof
