I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It was terrific camera work by the camera operator. :) I would agree that it is very touching to see such fierce raptors being so gentle and attentive to their young.
That is just it. It blows me away to see that huge bird taking such good care of these tiny babies. Just to see those big feet and realize how easily they could badly hurt the little one.....but they don't. Nature can be truly amazing. These are some really terrific videos. I live in Montana and we frequently have baldies in our trees but none have ever nested close by and if they did, we could not watch what is going on like this. Thank you.
How fortunate you are to live where you can view Bald Eagles even if it is from a distance. It is wonderful that nest cams have given us views that allow us to appreciate Mom and Dad Decorah as well as other Bald Eagles as well as other birds in new and fascinating ways! :)
It's hard to know if D28's darker natal down is a natural color or staining from nest materials getting damp from all the rain. I saw a similar dark natal down appearance on an Australian White-bellied Sea Eagle nestling after heavy rains but that's a different species using different nesting materials.
Probably not. So far D26 doesn't nap when not being brooded and has started to slip out to check out the world when his or her siblings are being brooded.
Always love coming back to this nest. The parents always makes sure all are well feed.
I just love these little bobbleheads! Thanks for the video!
You're most welcome. :) All three nestlings are adorable. :)
I love the zoom in...they are so beautiful
it is refreshing to see a trio nest doing good
I would agree that it is wonderful to see all three nestlings thriving. :)
Awesome video I love how she scoots the baby under at the end🙂

SO WONDERFUL TO WATCH THIS VIDEO OF THE BABY EAGLES - :)
They all look good and about the same size. So hopefully all three eagles will live and fledge.
While nothing in nature is guaranteed Mom and Dad have raised all their previous 25 hatched young to fledge.
It must be hard for mom to feed all those cute little "bobbing"' heads. She has an innate patience. :-)
D28 still has a bit darker grey coloring

Perhaps D26 doesn't want a nap yet...
