A Voicemail for the Bergmans - short film

"A man attempts to leave a voicemail for the parents of his girlfriend."
So I shot this on a whim with Anthony back in the Spring of 2017. I had recently watched "This Is John" by the Duplass Brothers, and well... pretty much copied that. This is inspired by a true story though. I did in fact find myself in the terrifying vortex of a rambling voicemail, with no way to cancel it. I hoped to capture that dread of staring at a phone, minutes into a voicemail you regret, wishing you could just go back in time 5 minutes.
Anyways, so we shot this in 2017, then it sat unfinished on a hard drive for 5 years. I edited this version in May of 2022, then let it sit on a hard drive for another 2 years. Now I'm finally posting it online. It's really short, quirky, and maybe a little funny.
