I dont know if anyone clarified that for you yet gopher, but when a spell makes your target make a save, if the percentages of success are low that does not mean that YOU suck, but the target that is very good in the specific save that you are imposing to them. That is why it is part of advanced tactics to have different types of ability save spells, (INT, and CHA for example are good ones, they are often low on most enemies) so that you have more options to control your enemies, since on average it is hard for them to be good at every kind of save. EDIT: You already have a very good habit of always looking in the sheet of the enemies to understanding what is best against them, this would add an additional layer to your analysis: their abilities also matter in your decision process.
If Wyll is specced into Pact of the Blade, it’s VERY benificial for him to use melee, especially if you equip him with the Helmet of Arcane Acuity, his spellsave DC will reach unsaveable levels very quickly, particularily when using that sword
Gopher once again casually scoffing at one of the best rings in the game despite Chat's best efforts hahaha. EDIT: Finally finished the video. Well done Chat for managing to convince him at the 11th hour. Guaranteed Advantage on attack rolls on a heavy hitter like Lae'zel, Karlach, or even Astarion with Disadvantage on Saving rolls is a phenomenal trade-off in most fights, especially if you can mitigate it with other equipment, as Gopher realized.
indeed, but he will be fine without it, not really needed at this stage with this party and difficulty setting :) there is a reason though, that all the top players doing solo honour mode runs use the risky ring for many of their builds.
Don't forget to check back at the crazy blood lady's cellar next episode! Most of the houses have stuff to explore in this act. Also, might want to talk to the bartender at the Elfsong. :D I love Act 3 ... it's so fun and so much to do!
Blind is a nice low lvl debuff and it is not a concentration spell. Also counterspell is not 100% chance to work against spells higher than 3lvl if not upcasted - which is why it is nice to have it on a warlock - they always cast spells at max lvl, and also they don't rly rely on spells because of eldritch blast so they can use them for utility and then refresh fully on short rest.
Really behind on this series. Not seen it since episode 4 or something. When this popped up in my feed I thought for a second it was talking about the Act 1 Hag! ha.
