They really are rubbish. I am glad that I found your channel, it has firmly put me off ever buying a motor home. Motels and Hotels for me, or home, that's the sweet spot.
Hi I resealed my scuttle plate a few weeks back. I took all the original tape off, cleaned, primed and used high quality black silicon sealant. I also used corrosion converter spray on the injectors -
Light on dash came on while on hols in France it was brake wear sensor, commercial garage in France replaced front pads light went off on the way home light back on ,took each wheel off couldn't find any problem ,so decided to remove earth lead from starter battery for 5/10 min put back on light went out and has never come back on (2017 Fiat Ducato)
Our carado is only just over 1 year old and it's got a hot starting problem, voltage goes to under 10 volts when ignition off after a long drive, after 15 mins or so back to normal, fiat or dealer can't find the fault. All my research has left to this engine ground issue but I haven't got round to it yet. It's a pain, we can't stop for petrol after a long drive cos the van won't start. Your way more handy than me so just thought it could be a quick easy check for you, anyway hope it all works out for you, really like your vlogs btw, thanks, gary
Should have got the friend to do a regen on the engine to clear the dPF problem with camper and is they are not get driven hard enough and dPF get clogged up and put the van in limp mode time and time again throw engine light on when warm
Jog, Didn’t one of the euro garages diagnose the ECU ? they likely had a more sophisticated OBD reader like your mate has. There’s plenty of good miles left in your Burstner, don’t overthink things, if it had been a UK breakdown (minus the drama!) you’d be in a different state of mind and not thinking of changing. Panel vans are great but a big step down on the habitation side if you ask me
@@jonathanmarshall6790 yes it’s been a lot of pressure, yes you are right the garage in Trieste mentioned ECU and tbh thought he was just trying to get rid off me quoting lots of € Hopefully 🤞 we will sort it out.
@@MOHOTELADVENTURES jof I’m a great believer in you can be an expert in one thing and a novice in others , I can see it’s doing your head in the and it’s , not worth it mate book it in and take a chill pill ( a cold sherb) and let them fix it 👍
Is this a peugeot/citroen engine? If so the french like to number the injectors with number 1 being at the flywheel end and number 4 at the timing belt end. It causes a lot of confusion for diagnosing which cylinder is at fault.
@@MOHOTELADVENTURES mine is stored on a very slight slope and when it rained the recess where the injectors are was full of water as you say shocking for what they cost . Good luck 🤞 with whoever it goes too be fixed I feel for you both 🙏
Jof. I put black electrical tape along between the windscreen and the scuttle panel. Stops the water running down. Best to take scuttle off and give a good clean first. Will replace yearly as tape will come off but it's temporary in case windscreen has to come out.
Ongoing DPF issues with our Burstner. Driven less than 2000 miles and it’s back at Fiat again as engine warning light back on for the 2nd time since August!
I feel for you Jof! Modern engines with all their sensors, emmision reduction components etc can be an nightmire when things go wrong. You're right to look at the windscreen seal issue, that is well known and does dump water into the injector screw-in recess. I'd do as you are, get it booked into a competent Fiat Professional dealer ( hard to come by!) to see what they say. Adams Morley in Portsmouth have a good reputation, bit far from you but worth considering. Best of luck.
@@MOHOTELADVENTURES You've had so many great memories in his van, the solution to the problem is probably pretty trivial. See what Fiat say and go from there, I'm sure you'll be back exploring with a fixed van soon!
Speak to local traders and garages to see who they use for specialist diesel diagnostics as some of these specialists don’t need to advertise, have you looked at your glow plugs as these often bring up a service light or engine management light and an emissions fault light if you have one !
