Just bought a 2 1/4 ton hydraulic jack for my 2007 Sonata. Never used one before so this video sure did help give me an idea on what to do.

So twist the handle all the way to the right then pump it to lift, and just slowly twist the handle to the left to let it down? Did I understand that properly? I've always used a crappy scissor jack before, so the hydraulic is unfamiliar and I want to make sure I'm 100% understanding before I give it a go

sooo twisting the handle is how you tighten it? i barely saw a little wrist movement but no word or explanation of that.

There no rubber pad on the jack wich saves the vehicle from getting any more under body damage.

Camera man did a bad job showing the underneath of the car while you were positioning the floor jack 2:34. Can't really see how it should contact the car, and I still have no idea how to prevent the thin pinch wield metal thing that sticks out from supporting all the weight and getting damaged over time like you showed earlier.

Dont do that with that HF jack over 10 times or its done. Junk P.O.S will blow its o-ring....
I have the older yellow & black version of this jack. Had if for over 6 years now and it still works fine. Probably used it over 70 times in 6 years. I only ever had to bleed it and fill it a couple times.
where are the points to jack up the car in front and back?
Okaythen001 I normally use the sub frame mounts as jacking points.
Good summary, Anthony. I've noticed that the jacks supplied for new cars sometimes have V-shaped adapters to mate with the bent sharp angle of sheet metal of the unibody. Without an adapter I can see why generic hoists will bend the sheet metal over. Are such adapters sold for commercial hoists?
